Would you like to use your expertise as a geophysicist by developing new offshore wind farm projects and being responsible for the geophysical aspects in all project phases?

Join us and become Senior Geophysicist in our Site Investigation Management department where you'll be part of a group of 15 geophysicists and geologists and have 28 committed colleagues with backgrounds as geophysicists, geologists, hydrographic surveyors, scour engineers and project managers. In the department, we strive for a high degree of professionalism when conducting geo-surveys, interpretation and engineering.

Your key tasks will be to

  • be responsible for the overall strategy for building geophysical knowledge of sites, scoping the surveys and providing input for budgets
  • ensure that the basis for the design of our offshore wind farms is of high quality in cooperation with our geotechnical engineers
  • participate in the evaluation of the seabed and subsurface prior to developing the site and cable routes
  • be responsible for the seismic stratigraphy-based and geotechnically proven geological ground model in close cooperation with the geotechnical engineers
  • define the geophysical scope of works, including bathymetry, magnetic, side scan sonar, ROV and seismic surveys.

Moreover, you'll handle the technical management of geophysical surveys, e.g. daily follow-up on the technical quality of geophysical surveys, processing and interpretation, and have the QA responsibility for all geophysical data and interpretations. You'll identify and handle risks, including UXO, boulders, geohazard, archaeology, seabed changes and consent requirements, and you’ll support our construction and operations departments with inspections, seabed change surveys, as-built surveys and risk mitigation. In connection with the execution of projects, it'll be your responsibility to ensure a successful and effective technical dialogue with your colleagues and suppliers.

Your competences include that you

  • have a relevant degree in earth sciences and solid experience with a broad spectrum of geophysical methods
  • preferably have experience from a position where you have gained knowledge of quantitative seismic inversion and interpretation
  • speak and write English fluently and have excellent communication skills, enabling you to convey your messages to your stakeholders smoothly and efficiently
  • are motivated by technical challenges
  • enjoy working with short decision paths and having the opportunity to take leadership for technically challenging processes.
