As Senior Embedded Software Engineer you will be an essential part of the 2-Stroke Automation department. The department is responsible for delivering a complete control system, that controls most of the largest 2-stroke engines in the world.
You will join our embedded platform team consisting of 12 highly skilled and motivated engineers, working using agile principles.
The MAN-ES engine control system is a distributed embedded system consisting of multiple controllers. Each controller is based on our own hardware platform and our team is responsible for the Firmware/Middleware that enable the control departments to efficiently develop and bring to market, state of the art solutions e.g. new alternative fuel types and emission reduction systems.
What will you be doing?
Your primary tasks will be to design and develop software that connects the application with the hardware:
- Take part developing new features, all the way from designing the architecture to implementation and maintenance.
- Analyzing and debugging existing solutions.
- Writing automated test.
Who are you?
We imagine that you:
- Have a degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or similar, with a particular interest in embedded systems.
- 8+ years post-university industrial experience ideally in related fields.
- Profound experience with embedded software written in C and C++.
- Ability to work in close cooperation with a teams, but also self-driven and willing to take ownership.
- Like to be challenged technically and have a "can-do" attitude.
- Are a good communicator and enjoy aligning and coordinating with stakeholders
- Knowledge of agile development processes, test automation and continuous integration, is a plus.
How is your new team?
You will be part the embedded platform team in the automation department in Copenhagen. We are responsible for everything connecting the application code with the control system hardware. This includes real-time operating system, hardware abstraction layer, board support package and application interfaces. We work closely together with the hardware team to integrate new FPGA features, and the control departments to provide a meaningful and efficient API.
