Senior Electrical Asset Specialist to ensure excellent performance of low voltage systems on our offshore wind power sites

Would you like to take up the challenge of being our key specialist for ensuring the technical integrity of the wide range of low voltage systems and controller software in wind turbines?

Join us and become Senior Electrical Asset Integrity Specialist in our Electrical department, where you and your colleagues will be responsible for the overall handling of all our electrical wind farm assets in operation. The low voltage area includes various types of wind turbines from different manufacturers and equipment from multiple sub-suppliers.

You’ll be part of a team of skilled electrical specialists in wind turbines, HV/MV components, HV cables and LV, primarily focusing on evaluating the technical risks and establishing the preventive and corrective maintenance to be performed on all our sites, including support to the front line in case of difficult failure events. You’ll drive integrity cases affecting the assets by recommending the optimal solution to ensure that the assets can be operated safely and that they’ll meet the business case throughout their lifecycle.

In Electrical HV/LV, we’re involved in the entire lifecycle of our offshore wind projects, from the early stages of engineering and construction to decommissioning. Along the way, you’ll work with a multitude of other stakeholders in engineering and commercial departments across our Group. We currently support 23 wind farms, and we’re expanding rapidly.

Your key tasks will be to

  • handle and coordinate technical integrity issues on electrical components in the wind turbine
  • ensure the wind turbine software updates provided by the turbine supplier are evaluated by key internal stakeholders and are certified and implemented to ensure optimal performance of the operational assets
  • perform root-cause analyses and manage the implementation of needed solutions – sometimes via external suppliers
  • act as technical expert in warranty cases
  • drive technical improvement projects within own technical area.

You’ll furthermore define optimal maintenance of the low voltage assets, securing the highest possible availability yet keeping the cost of the maintenance at a minimum. You’ll communicate soundly and in writing about technical project statuses and manage a vast range of internal and external stakeholders focused on technical, legal and commercial aspects.

Your competences include that you

  • have a master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar, combined with considerable work experience within electrical low voltage engineering
  • have experience with electrical wind turbine systems (low voltage components and turbine controllers). Wind turbine software domain experience is an advantage but not a prerequisite
  • preferably have experience with technical project management
  • possess a high drive and are a good communicator who can handle many stakeholders
  • speak and write English fluently, enabling you to operate efficiently in an international environment.

Furthermore, you’re good at handling interfaces and collaborating across cultures and functions. You thrive on solving complex and abstract problems. You’re a team player who enjoys sharing your knowledge and achieving results together with your colleagues in the project group, the department and across the organisation.

Scrum and Six Sigma methodologies are fundamental to our way of working and having experience with these methods is therefore an advantage. It’s also an advantage if your professional skills are based on relevant onsite work experience.
