Join us as Senior Department Manager for our Prototyping department in R&D, Lyngby
You will lead a recently formed department with 22 dedicated scientists and research associates. The department is specialized in protein/enzyme purification, basic characterization and automated sample storage. The department supports all the industry areas we operate in with enzyme prototypes and data and is part of the Prototyping, Analytics and Data Management area in Enzyme Research R&D.

The area consists of four departments with responsibility for identifying and purifying new enzymes as well as basic and advanced characterization of these. We also host the core R&D facilities for DNA sequencing, automation and advanced analytics like mass spectrometry. Furthermore, the area drives the R&D Data Platform with advanced tools and database systems for e.g. sequence analytics etc.

In this role you’ll make an impact by:

• Leading and developing scientists and research associates with focus on automation of laboratory processes to increase efficiency
• Working with and developing concepts for agile generation of enzyme prototypes
• Focusing on digitalization and how this can improve our way of working

To succeed you must hold:

• A Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar.
• Furthermore we also expect you to have:
• Leadership experience from an R&D setting
• Solid understanding of enzymes/proteins and innovation
• Knowledge of and experience in laboratory automation and optimization of laboratory process via digitalization
• A collaborative mindset and good people skills, being able to lead changes and bring motivation
