Responsibilities / Tasks

Who are we? 
We are 22 Automation engineers located in Søborg where GEA has its largest Nordic office with more than 700 employees. 
Our department is responsible for delivering process control systems, electrical equipment, and instrumentation to our customers. The department has six primary fields of activities; tendering, hardware design, software development, project engineering, project management and process control commissioning. We work closely together with other departments that are responsible for drying technology; fluid bed, spray and freeze drying of food, dairy, pharmaceutical and chemical products.

The main duties and responsibilities within projects will be:

  • Project engineering and design as well as project management of automation solutions for process plants.

  • Programming of SCADA, PLC and MES systems.

  • Workshop tests (FAT), onsite tests (SAT), commissioning and troubleshooting at subcontractors and customers all over the world.

  • Preparation of necessary documentation.

  • Development and maintenance of standard concepts and tools

  • Oversee all control design activities on projects including equipment specifications, P&ID’s, and take responsibility for all technical decisions, execution of the contract scope and process integrity.

  • Where necessary and in conjunction with the Process Engineers write Functional Descriptions to enable plant software to be created.

You will work in teams and will work closely with colleagues in other automation groups around the world. You should expect approx. 40 travel days per year.

We preferably see a candidate with several years of experience within the pharmaceutical area.

You have a relevant education in the industry, for example as an electrical engineer or other electrical or automation education. You are interested in designing automation solutions for process plants as well as documentation thereof. You have good knowledge of programming and similar tasks in electrical systems and automation as well as a general knowledge of automation in the process industry.

It is important that you have good knowledge of the following:

  • SCADA and PLC systems and that you are used to work with various automation systems such as Siemens TIA portal.

  • MES systems

  • Virtual Machines

  • SQL database

  • GAMP

  • FDA requirements like 21 CFR part 11

  • S88 – Batch control

  • Functional safety regulations

  • ATEX knowledge will also be an advantage in the job.

You are passionate and curious about technology and possess a focused and analytic drive to proactively seek solutions when faced with challenges. You have strong communicative skills - in English and preferably also in Danish that you use to interact, communicate and present sometimes complex information to both specialist as well as non-technical colleagues and stakeholders.
