Senior Array Cable Engineer for offshore wind farms

Would you like to take up the technical challenges in relation to offshore cables for wind farms?

Join us and become Senior Array Cable Engineer in our Array Cables department which is responsible for all high-voltage inter-array cables transporting energy from generation in the turbine to delivery to the grid. The department currently consists of 15 employees located in Denmark, London and Hamburg as well as several consultants. You will be involved in all engineering phases related to the array cable systems for offshore wind farms.

The department is part of Wind Power which has 1,800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world's largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe, and we are expanding with international activities in the US and Asia-Pacific.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling to our international offices and sites in relation to your work.

Your key tasks will be to

  • manage the design and quality of cable products and accessories
  • plan, execute and follow up on projects, including managing contractors
  • manage interfaces with internal and external stakeholders
  • participate in team meetings, ensure cross-discipline cooperation and ensure that the array cable supply package is on time, of the correct quality and within scope and budget.

As part of the Array Cables department, you will have a unique opportunity to learn directly from a team of very experienced engineers, and you will be cooperating closely with your colleagues based at different locations internationally.

Your qualifications and core competences include that you

  • have a master's degree in electrical engineering or similar
  • have experience within high voltage cables and accessories
  • have project management experience from infrastructure projects
  • speak and write English fluently
  • have an international mindset.

It is essential that you are an excellent communicator and that you thrive working in teams with your colleagues and other stakeholders. You have a structured, service-minded and flexible approach to your tasks. Furthermore, you must be good at driving success by proactively initiating action, seizing business opportunities and pursuing ambitious targets.
