Scientist and Project leader, Global Solids Optimization, Kalundborg
We are offering an attractive position with the responsibility of optimizing and improving the spray drying part of the Novozymes production chain to ensure a cost efficient and sustainable production. The focus will be on the Kalundborg plant, but activities towards the factory at Fuglebakken will also be possible.
We explore and utilize production data, process knowledge, science and innovation to increase enzyme yields, reduce raw material and energy use, and increase process robustness.

We typically work on projects of 6-12 months’ duration with focus on creating significant and value. We do this is a structured approach, following a SixSigma project model, where advanced data analysis, statistics, lab scale trials and applied science, are among the tools utilized. The department and the company are going through a rapid process of digitalization and this offers new ways of working.

We are a department with 4 scientists and 1 technician. We are a closely-knit unit and have an open, curious and flexible way of working and engaging. The department is a part of the larger global optimization unit, covering Fermentation and Recovery at the Danish, Chinese and US production sites. We cooperate closely across process boundaries to design the best over-all process.

To keep meeting our business targets in a dynamic environment, people development is a focus area in the daily work for all Zymers as well as continuous improvement of the way we work. Interaction with other departments is very strong, using both shared projects and actual job rotations to other departments/functions to foster cooperation and business understanding.

In this position you need to:

  • Have minimum a MSc in chemical engineering, biotechnology or related field
  • Have minimum 2 years of relevant industrial experience, preferably within large scale spraydrying
  • Have experience as a project leader
  • Be ambitious and have the ability to create results and set direction
  • Be able to communicate effectively with many different kinds of people
  • Have interest in digitalization
  • Have strong analytical skills
  • Be eager to learn and develop
  • Be fluent in Danish oral communication (or be willing to learn). Excellent English oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Be ready to work in Kalundborg
