Would you like to develop the software that is used by the world’s biggest space companies to analyse satellites and radio telescopes?

At TICRA, we strive to evolve and collaborate to develop state-of-the-art software that enables space agencies and spacecraft manufacturers to create high-performance communication links in space and on the ground. As our new scientific software developer, you will join a team of antenna experts with strong expertise in Computational Electromagnetics (CEM) and work closely with the rest of the company to develop antenna modelling software for the antenna industry.

Your daily work is the development of TICRA’s software packages. It could be the development of a feature in the software that enables the European Space Agency (ESA) or NASA to model a certain antenna component that allows satellite communication from Earth to Mars. It could be improvements to how CAD files of advanced antenna geometries are imported/exported in our software, which means that you are helping engineers at some of the biggest space companies in the world. Or it could be changes on how the antenna geometries are visualized in the software, making it easy for experts around the world to take advantage of our unique computational engine.

You will work in close collaboration with our antenna and CEM specialists in all phases of the software development process from requirements specification to building final releases. As a programmer in our backend team you will develop code in Fortran, C, and C++.

Qualifications

  • MSc degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field with a substantial programming component and interest in scientific computing
  • Strong programming skills, with experience in Fortran, C, or C++. Training in Fortran will be provided if needed
  • Mathematical modelling skills
  • Familiar with CEM or computational geometry
  • Familiar with geometrical modelling in CAD software or meshed geometries
  • Familiar with parallel programming using OpenMP
  • Strong communication skills in spoken and written English
  • A citizen of a NATO/EU country

Why join TICRA
In this role you will be working alongside some of the best and most passionate antenna engineering experts in a dynamic company operating in the global satellite industry. Freedom with responsibility is the framework for TICRA’s employees which allows for a good balance between work and family life and development of professional and personal skills in an international and enjoyable working environment.
