Safety related activities in the implementation of complex signaling technology on the railway – are you interested?
We are looking for three new Safety Advisors to join us in the Safety & Interoperability team - a section under Banedanmark’s Signalling Programme. We handle the overall safety assessment of the entire implementation of the new signaling system, including the assessment of supplier and stakeholder inputs, to ensure that the project execution and deliveries fulfill the necessary safety requirements.
The Signalling Programme is responsible for the implementation of ERTMS and CBTC across Denmark replacing the signaling system on the national railway with new technology. The programme consists of different projects supported by an international supplier base and consultants from across Europe – the largest project of its kind in Europe.
Participate in ensuring essential safety activities
On a day to day basis, you will be working as part of one of the specific project teams within the Signalling Programme. We are currently looking for one Safety Advisor for Fjernbane East and two for the Onboard project. However, you will also have an active role in the cross functional matrix section Safety & Interoperability, and therefore you will be involved in all safety related activities across the Signalling Programme, thereby taking part in developing and optimizing safety related processes across Banedanmark.
As a Safety Advisor, your responsibilities are:
- Producing safety submissions to the NSA or ERA in accordance to an AAPP (Authority Approval Process Plan) and in full compliance with the Danish and European Railway Legislation and Common Safety Method (CSM-RA)
- Contributing to safety submissions being assessed by Assessment Bodies (AsBo) and Notified Bodies (NoBo)
- Ensuring that all safety subjects are communicated and handled internally within Banedanmark
- Collaborating with relevant railway undertaking companies and suppliers
- Writing all necessary safety documentation, e.g., system definitions and hazard logs
- Organizing and following up on hazard workshops and other safety meetings
Experience with safety analysis and from complex organizations
You hold a relevant degree, e.g. Engineering or Risk and Safety Management. You preferably come with professional experience and insight into railway safety and approval processes, ideally from a similar large and complex organization. However, you can also be at graduate level and very motivated to learn.
If you already have experience, you know how to produce and manage safety documentation, and how to apply and use CSM-RA, CENELEC, TSI CCS and all Danish railway legislation. For the two positions in the Onboard safety team, it is preferable that you can contribute with knowledge of and experience from working with railway vehicles.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to constructively do stakeholder management are critical to succeed in this role, as it is built upon collaboration within engineering teams across the unit and externally. Therefore, we are looking for an outgoing and open person who works with awareness of differences between professional and cultural backgrounds.
It is equally important that you thrive in a fast-paced environment, that requires a high degree of methodical and organized approach, as well as the flexibility to work around tight deadlines.
We offer a multi-national work environment, so it is necessary that you speak, write and communicate fluently in English.
You will be employed in relation to the current labour agreement and your salary is settled based on your experiences and qualifications.
