Safety related activities in the implementation of complex signalling technology on the railway - are you interested?
We are looking for a new colleague, a Safety Advisor, to join us in the Onboard Safety Team. We handle the overall safety assessment of the entire Onboard Project, including the assessment of supplier and stakeholder inputs, to ensure that the project execution and deliveries fulfill the necessary safety requirements.

The Onboard Project is responsible for the installation of the new onboard unit (ETCS) on train units in Denmark. The project is supported by an international supplier base and consultants from across Europe and part of the Signalling Programme – the largest of its kind in Europe – which is replacing the signalling system on the national railway with new technology.

Your work place will be at Banedanmark’s head office in central Copenhagen.

Central role in ensuring essential safety activities
On a day to day basis, you will be working as a part of the Onboard Safety Team. However, with an active role in the cross functional section Safety & Commissioning, you will also be involved in all safety related activities across the Signalling Programme, and thereby take part in developing and optimizing safety related processes across Banedanmark.

As Safety Advisor your responsibilities are:

  • Managing and producing safety submissions to the NSA in accordance to AAPP (Authority Approval Process Plan) and in full compliance with Danish Railway Legislation and the European Common Safety Methods (CSM)
  • Supporting the relationship with the assessment bodies, DeBo, regarding safety submissions, as well as with all relevant railway undertakings
  • Ensuring all safety subjects are communicated and handled internally within Banedanmark
  • Writing all necessary safety documentation, e.g., system definitions and hazard logs
  • Organizing and following up on hazard workshops and other safety meetings.

Experience with safety analysis and from complex organizations
You hold a relevant degree, e.g., Risk and Safety Management, and come with professional experience and insight into railway safety and approval processes, ideally from a similar large and complex organization.

From this experience, you know how to produce and manage safety documentation, and how to apply and use CSM-RA, CENELEC, TSI CCS and all Danish railway legislation. We would also like to hear from you if you have experience from similar industries.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to constructively do stakeholder management are critical to succeed in this role, as it is built upon collaboration within engineering teams across the unit and externally. Therefore, we are looking for an outgoing and open person who works with awareness of differences between professional and cultural backgrounds.

It is equally important that you thrive in a fast-paced environment, that requires a high degree of methodical and organized approach, as well as the flexibility to work around tight deadlines.

We offer a multi-national work environment, therefore it is necessary that you speak, write and communicate fluently in English combined with a high level of Danish if not native.

Salary
You will be employed in relation to the current labour agreement and your salary is settled based on your experiences and qualifications.
