The Danish Technological Institute in Taastrup is looking for a consultant who is passionate about intelligent operating systems and robots. We are looking for a robot control specialist who can help develop new robotic automation solutions that utilise the latest intelligent control systems for both national and international customers within the food industry.

Control and development
As a consultant, you will be part of Automation, where you will help deliver new ground-breaking solutions that ensure the competitiveness of the Danish food industry.

Your work duties will include:

  • Developing software solutions for intelligent robot control (calibration, sensor input integration, data communication, robot path planning)
  • Developing adaptive algorithms, e.g., based on machine learning/deep learning for automation solutions
  • Participating in experimental work and its planning
  • Seeking out knowledge of new intelligent control methods

The job entails great freedom in the work as well as good opportunities for influencing and developing your function in an inspiring environment where we easily end up working across disciplines and qualifications. Good teamwork and informal social conventions characterise us. You will be part of a strong team of specialists within robot control, deep learning, data analysis, sensors, PLC programming and motor control.

An engineer with development experience in control solutions
You have a relevant masters or higher educational qualification, probably in automation or robotic technology. Some experience in software development and the integration of control solutions is desired, but not necessary. Newly qualified applicants are welcome to apply. The most important thing is that you are passionate about working with intelligent control systems, robotics and that you can program.

You have:

  • Experience with robot programming in ROS
  • Experience with object-oriented programming language (Python, C/C++) in Linux
  • General understanding of machine learning/deep learning
  • Knowledge of image analysis and sensor systems in general

You are good at keeping an overview and at snapping up and sharing knowledge while focusing on the result. You are good at collaborating and can communicate effortlessly in both Danish and English.

Automation 
Automation promotes both high quality and competitiveness in food production by using advanced automation technology. The centre consists of two sections and is part of the DMRI division at the Danish Technological Institute.

DMRI is the world’s largest international leading research centre for research and innovation in meat industry. Our specialists focus on methods and techniques for the production of safe high-quality animal foods at competitive prices while paying maximum attention to the working environment, animal welfare and the external environment. Our specialists develop solutions for the international meat industry and provide advice both nationally and internationally.
