Research Scientist for new hardware and video technologies
Do you want to explore a wide range of new technologies and bring them into play in our future innovative audio and video products?

We know quality
At GN Audio, we lead major technology shifts with intelligent audio and video solutions. Our Jabra products – such as headsets, speakerphones and video conference equipment – are designed with the purpose of delivering optimal solutions for both consumers and business professionals. To keep us ahead of the game, the Hardware and Video Research team investigates new technologies to ensure that our products are the very best on the market.

Your research helps create great products
As a research scientist, you will explore a variety of different areas such as wireless communication, intelligent audio, sensors, AI and machine learning. You will drive early research through maturation to tangible results. By creating functional mock-ups, you demonstrate the potential of new technologies and bring them to a state where they can be implemented into products by our development teams.

More specifically, you will:

  • Gather information on new hardware technologies through online research, scouting at relevant fairs, consultations with subject matter experts and cooperation and co-innovation with external vendors
  • Create mock-ups and working samples – our many R&D teams are on hand to help when needed
  • Present findings to relevant stakeholders at many levels, such as our technical managers, product managers and concept groups

“In this job, we get to play around with a vast range of new technologies. It makes sense to me that you have the freedom to explore the stuff that makes you tick - as long as it’s relevant and has an impact,” says Hardware and Video Research Manager Michael Sødal Schwartz.

Influence the direction of our work
As we are a small newly established team, you will play a significant part in planning your own workday and our overall direction. To ensure the best possible solutions, we have a high level of collaboration across the organization – for instance with software and mechanical teams, systems engineers and our video team in Cupertino, USA.

Quality engineering skills and a wide interest in electronics
As you will lead your own research projects, you need a high level of independence and the ability to keep momentum going. Your curiosity about technical possibilities is paired with an understanding of product functionality.

Moreover, you:

  • Hold a degree within engineering or similar
  • Have several years of relevant experience, for instance within electronics engineering
  • Are fluent in English, making you capable of presenting all your great work to our stakeholders

Additionally, it is an advantage if you have experience within some of the following: hardware system design, audio and ANC design, RF and wireless (e.g. Bluetooth, DECT and Wi-Fi), video and camera systems, sensors and AI. Finally, hands-on experience with mechanical design is a plus.
