The position
As an intern within oral protein and peptide delivery, your main objective will be to focus on developing innovative oral drug delivery devices. Specifically, you will contribute to the engineering, prototyping, and evaluation of novel oral device concepts as part of an interdisciplinary project team. The team comprises a diverse mix of competencies spanning across multiple natural sciences and engineering disciplines as well as our R&D organization.

  • Internship period: 6 months
  • Working hours: max. 37 hours a week
  • Start date: February 2022 (or as soon as possible thereafter)
  • Internships are remunerated if your educational track allows
  • A Danish full-time work permit is required

You will be able to combine an internship with lectures at university, project work or writing your thesis. It is an opportunity for a unique learning experience and a chance to turn theories into practice.

Qualifications 
You are currently studying to obtain an MSc degree in biomedical engineering. Specifically, you are knowledgeable in medical device design and engineering. Additionally, we would like you to: 

  • have experience within sensors, actuators and electronics 
  • be comfortable setting up physical experiments and calculating physical parameters
  • have programming skills (e.g., knowledge in MATLAB and LabVIEW) 

As a person, you are outgoing with a strong personal drive and dedication. Your strong interpersonal skills assist you in creating trustful relations across professions and geography, and you bring a healthy sense of humour to your work – even when the pressure is on. We expect you to be service-minded, that you thrive in a busy environment and that you are great at focusing on solutions and opportunities.

About the department 
The Oral Delivery Technologies department is part of Novo Nordisk Global Research Technologies, which counts 500+ employees passionate about bringing the best solutions to the more than 25 million patients currently treated by NN products. We are situated in the Greater Copenhagen area in Denmark and are comprised of an international team of ambitious and friendly researchers. Our collective goal is to develop orally delivered biologics, which can ultimately improve the lives of patients with serious chronic diseases.
