We are looking for an R&D Project Manager within Electronics/Software Devices who can participate in securing the future success of Ambu.

In this challenging position, you will be a part of the new R&D Project Management team in Global Innovation where you will be the main driver of ensuring development of new innovative imaging, display and connectivity devices. As a member of the R&D Project Management team we also expect you to take an active role in building up the tools and methods we use in our daily work.

You will be part of an effective innovation culture in our Global Innovation team located at our headquarters in Ballerup. We have a tradition of fast completion of projects, which means that there is a visible link between your results and Ambu’s growth. Ambu wants to be first in line and deliver new and innovative devices, which rethink existing processes and combine several technologies. This means that we set high demands to your project management skills, technical understanding and broad experience.
 
User-driven innovation - from idea generation to implementation
In your new position, you will be responsible for driving technical and business-oriented project management of global product development projects focusing on our next technology platforms. This includes developing, documenting, implementing and taking the final product to the market. The product development projects you will be in charge of will mainly focus on imaging, display and connectivity devices in order to support Ambus product strategy going forward. Here, you will need to ensure that documentation is in compliance and therefore, it is important that you are experienced in software and hardware documentation for medical devices.

Our product development process is customer-driven and a part of the job is therefore to meet the customers at their locations in operating rooms or pre-hospital settings. The process is driven as an integrated development process in close collaboration with various Ambu departments and stakeholders. An important part of the job is to establish a motivating working environment and collaboration in the project team worldwide and to ensure that the project is executed as agreed in the business case.
 
Experience with global project management
As you will be participating in discussions regarding technical as well as business issues in detail it is vital that you have strong business acumen and good technical understanding of hardware and software product development from the medical device industry or from a consultancy that deals with the medical device field. In addition, you need to have: 

  • Excellent time management and planning skills
  • Great team management and team building skills
  • Integrity and ability to set the culture for the project team
  • A strong drive and ability to motivate your team
  • Good compliance understanding in relation to international standards and authorities, especially a good understanding of the standard for medical device software and electrical safety of medical equipment
  • Great agile project execution skills

 
Furthermore, it is essential that you understand the value of communication as a tool to achieve goals and at the same time value user understanding.
 
As a person you are self-motivated, committed, structured and have a strong sense of responsibility towards your work. You are open-minded and trustworthy. You use your great interpersonal skills in your daily work, which makes you able to motivate project members.

You probably hold a degree in engineering and have techical work experience that will support decision-making and challenges in this position. You have at least 3-5 years of solid experience in managing product development projects and you may even hold a project management certification.

As you will be working with users and development partners across the world it is vital for us that you are experienced in cross-cultural collaboration. You must be fluent in written and oral English and you must be able to travel approximately 30-40 days per year.
