For the R&D team “Electrical Client User Models” we are looking for a person for development and optimization of our electrical simulation models, as well as taking part in the future development and design of our electrical simulation model platform and perform simulation studies on specific Wind Power Plants.

The R&D team develops several different electrical simulation models for Siemens Gamesa Wind Turbines which are used in grid connection studies, grid code compliance studies and other electrical system studies.

How to contribute to our vision
As a Team member in the R&D department you will be required to work individually and in small groups with several different tasks concerning electrical modeling of wind turbines.

Working assignments will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Development and optimization of electrical simulation models in simulation tools PSS/E and Matlab/Simulink

  • Parametrization of Wind Turbine simulation models and maintaining Wind Turbine parameter database

  • Benchmarking and validation of the developed simulation models

  • Implementation of wind turbine functions/features into the simulation model platform

  • Investigate and analyze wind turbine functions/features in relation to the connected grid systems

  • Perform various kinds of simulation studies on Wind Power Plants such as Stability studies and Harmonic studies

What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change.

The ideal candidate has an education within Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience within model development of electrical simulation models and electrical simulation studies just as further experience within control systems and software development will be an advantage.

Experience with the simulation tools of Siemens PSS/E and Matlab/Simulink is a requirement. Experience with other simulation tools such as DigSilent Power factory and PSCAD/EMTDC will be a strong asset.

Experience within various kind of simulation studies with focus on stability studies and harmonic studies is an advantage.

If you have experience with software languages C/C++ and fortran it will be an advantage.

An overall Software and programming understanding together with knowledge and experience within wind turbines is an advantage.

It is important that you are a dedicated team player, and you thrive in a multi-cultural environment – just as you possess fluency in spoken and written English
