At FOSS, we are driven by a strong sense of purpose, and we hope you are too. A fast growing world population means that the global food production will have to increase by 60% by 2050 to meet the demand.
We want to come up with smarter ways to make the best use of agricultural resources, and to help eliminate food waste. If that sounds like something you can commit to, then read on.
We are looking for an ambitious and highly skilled R&D engineer to drive the development of future analytical instruments for food analysis.

The job

  • Your responsibility will be to develop and implement future optical hardware platforms - taking the technology from the lab environment to full-scale production.
  • Your responsibilities will include the whole measuring system on an instrument project, which means that you must obtain complete and detailed knowledge of the path from sample to finished result and the interfaces to other parts of the instrument.
  • Your tasks will span from experimental work and measurements, simulations and design all in close collaboration with data scientists, mechanical and electrical engineers, software development and other departments outside R&D.
  • You will be become part of the Spectroscopy group in the R&D department, which is responsible for innovation, development and support of FOSS’ spectroscopic products.

The team holds a high level of experience and competence within optics, physics and electronics, and strives at delivering spectroscopic solutions performing to the edge of the technology and cost.

Qualifications and Personal skills
You ideally hold a M.Sc. degree in engineering, physics or similar and most likely a Ph.D.

You have proven results working with optics and spectroscopy, and preferably experience with data analysis in MatLab, optical simulations in e.g. Zemax and/or imaging systems.

People describe you as innovative, open to solving problems in new ways, self-driven, while still being a strong team player. You like challenges, while being responsible and quality oriented.  You excel at combining an analytical and experimental approach, and have an excellent ability to understand complex interacting systems.

We offer
We offer a challenging job in an international, dynamic and innovative organization. We are market leaders within our field and very proud of the results we deliver.

You will be a member of a team, where we respect one another, work closely together and apply each other competences in the daily work.

We make room for personal improvements, and continuously strive at optimizing our work processes.
