FOSS - a world-leading company within analytical instruments – is looking for an ambitious and highly skilled R&D engineer to develop optics-based analytical instruments for food analysis.
You will have two primary responsibilities. Above all, you must become an expert in technological measurements (e.g. flow cytometry) and develop measuring units for specific applications. Secondly, in collaboration with an assay responsible, you will become responsible for the measuring system on a project, which means that you must obtain complete and detailed knowledge of the path from sample to finished result. Your tasks will span from experimental work and measurements, simulations and design, to projects within different areas of knowledge and in collaboration with multiple departments.
You will become a member of the Biotechnology Team in the R&D department, which is responsible for innovation, development and support of FOSS’ biotechnological products, in particularly flow cytometry-based solutions. The seven members of the team hold a high level of experience and competence in optics, physics, biochemistry and microbiology. We are an ambitious team but have an informal and humorous tone, and strive to deliver biotechnological solutions performing to the edge of technology and price.
You have a M.Sc. degree in engineering physics or similar and preferably a Ph.D. Most likely, you have carried out optics-based experimental work. You have hands-on experience with fluidic systems as well as experience with data analysis in MatLab. Experience with optical simulations in Zemax is furthermore an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
- You are innovative, have a curious mind and thrive on challenges
- You are self-driven, but value a strong team and the effort to share knowledge
- Able to combine an analytical and experimental approach
- You have an excellent ability to understand complex systems
- You are accountable and quality oriented
We offer you a job with excellent opportunities for professional development. You will have the opportunity to leave a significant mark on FOSS’ future technology and business opportunities. The daily work takes place in an innovative and interdisciplinary environment. We believe that cooperation based on trust, open dialogue, clear objectives and good colleagues who help each other give motivation and job satisfaction. We want to motivate our employees to take responsibility and exert influence.
