Are you ready to step into an exciting R&D-function? Then you should join us!

Would you like to be at the forefront of the latest technology and make a difference for hearing impaired people worldwide? Can you see yourself as part of a team that shapes the future audiological solutions for hearing aids? Then we might have an exciting career opportunity for you at Oticon’s Audiology & Embedded Solutions department.

Oticon is a well-established, international company, which improves the life quality of people with a hearing disability worldwide. You will be working from our beautiful headquarters in Smørum close to Copenhagen; a large, modern building with all the facilities required by today’s employees: Fitness center, an awarded canteen and an informal work environment. The building is located on the top of a hill, a 10 minutes’ walk from the S-train. About 1000 people are working from the headquarters. We have recently revealed our new groundbreaking Velox platform for our next generation hearing aids, called “Opn”. We are proud of this achievement and are not afraid of calling it a paradigm shift in hearing care.

Your team and tasks
You will become part of our “Audiological System Development and Requirement group”, which belongs to our Research & Development unit “Audiology and Embedded Systems”. Our group is responsible for developing requirements and designing audiological features for the hearing solutions, in particular the hearing aids and its interaction with the fitting software & Apps.

The successful candidate will have the ability to collaborate closely with a broad range of stakeholders within Product Management, Marketing, R&D and other development functions. You will have the possibility to integrate your stakeholder’s input to create state of the art audiological solutions. We furthermore work in an agile setup, which offers you the chance to be part of a professional team where all your colleagues focus on the complete project and welcome your ideas and input. You will be part of a cross-functional SCRUM team with focus on audiology and the end user.

Your main tasks include:

  • End-user and customer needs analysis
  • Prototyping audiological concepts in e.g. Matlab
  • Development and refinement of requirements
  • Feature design and verification in collaboration with the Test team
  • Idea generation and innovation projects for audiological solutions

Your background
We expect you to hold at least a M.Sc. in engineering, audiology, psychoacoustics, acoustics or similar. You have a strong interest in Research & Development and are used to a structured development way of work, using guidelines and documentation.

If you previously have worked with hearing aids, fitting software, audio diagnostic equipment and/or hearing impairment, this will be an advantage. In addition, any experience from usability design and validation will be a plus as well.

We furthermore expect you to adapt easily to changes and new challenges in a positive way. You are comfortable working in a multidisciplinary international environment and communicate, argue and present your ideas in a strong and convincing way. You speak and write English fluently.

We welcome you…
Your skilled colleagues are looking forward to welcoming you to an international team, and a positive and encouraging work environment. We all strive for an open and supportive way of working where sharing your knowledge and ideas are highly valued.
