Do you want to kick-start your career in a fast-growing and innovative medical device company? Do you want to develop medical devices that make a huge difference to people’s lives? Are you able to work closely with internal and external partners to optimize our current product portfolio? Then your new career could be with Ambu as R&D Engineer.

Since 1937, Ambu has developed, manufactured and sold medical devices. Today, millions of patients and healthcare professionals depend on the functionality and performance of Ambu’s products worldwide.

In this newly established and challenging position you will be an active contributor in the innovation team and participate in securing the future success of Ambu in the interest of our users.

You will be part of an effective innovation culture with a tradition for fast completion of projects, which means that there is a visible link between your results and Ambu’s growth. You will be a member of the Core Product Innovation team that focuses on products within Anaesthesia, Neurology, Cardiology as well as Emergency Care & Training, located in our headquarters in Ballerup. The Core product Innovation team is a new team, so you will be part of building up the team.

Kick-start your R&D engineering career as a vital player
As R&D Engineer, you will be a vital player in product development projects as you will be involved in all aspects of the innovation process - from the conceptual design to the product validation. You will participate in the interaction with future users of the products and you will be responsible for the documentation throughout your work.

In order to develop the product portfolio, it is important that you familiarize yourself with internal stakeholders in Denmark, China and Malaysia, and you must anticipate a steep learning curve about the wide range of Ambu's Core products.

You will work closely with marketing and customers to optimize the current product portfolio and identify opportunities for new products. Down the line, you are interested in taking on the engineering responsibility for a product group, taking the lead on the technical overview and know-how for a product group.

Your contact base will be broad, and you will interface with Ambu’s global organisation, all departments involved in product development projects and externally with users, knowledge centers and suppliers.

Passion for medical technology and good understanding of customer needs
It is important that you have a broad technical understanding, flair and interest, and a particular passion for medical technology. In combination with your good understanding of customer needs you will have to translate customer requirements into product features.

Most likely, you have a few years of experience or have recently graduated and hold a Master’s degree in medical technology, product design, electrical engineering, mechanics or similar.

As a person you are curious, highly motivated, flexible and social. You have great interpersonal skills and have a sense of the situation, which makes you thrive in global teams. You have a passion for new challenges, you are a “do’er” and prefer to act on, rather than theorise about, problems. You have a strong sense of responsibility towards your work, and you work in a structured and proactive way, while still being flexible and being able to “think outside the box”.

Since we are a global company, you will be involved in cross-cultural collaboration. Consequently, it is a requirement that you are fluent in English and that you are able to communicate efficiently. Lastly, you thrive in a position that gives you the opportunity to travel approximately 30-40  days a year.

We offer a wide range of professional, social and economic benefits, in addition to the exciting challenges of the job.
