R&D Engineer for developing optically based measurement systems

FOSS Analytical A/S is looking for an ambitious and highly skilled R&D engineer to drive the development of future analytical instruments for food analysis.

The job
This is an exciting opportunity, as your skills will have significant influence on FOSS’ future technology and business opportunities. Your main responsibility will be to design, develop and implement future optical measurement systems - taking the technology from the lab environment to full-scale production. Your tasks will span experimental work and measurements, simulations, design and project planning.

You will also be responsible for building up knowledge of how customers apply the technologies in various market segments (e.g. dairy, wine or grain), and utilize this knowledge to develop new product concepts.

The daily work takes place in an innovative and very cross-disciplinary environment offering interesting challenges and the possibility to learn new things every day. You will be employed in the Spectroscopy group in the R&D department, which is responsible for innovation, development and support of FOSS’ spectroscopic products. As a team we hold a high level of experience and competence within optics, physics, electronics and embedded software, and strives at delivering spectroscopic solutions performing to the edge of the technology and cost. We are ambitious, but have an informal and humorous tone.

Professional skills
You have a M.Sc. degree in engineering, physics or similar and most likely a Ph.D. You have proven results working with optics or applied physics, and preferably experience with MatLab and/or Zemax.
