Are you highly motivated about structured design and securing reliable communication within our systems, and would you like to participate in the construction of international wind farms?
 
Join us and become a Radio Engineer in the SCADA Communication department. The team is involved in all engineering phases within establishing data and verbal communication, and we offer specialist support regarding O&M of offshore wind farms. Our tasks include working with specification design and implementation of a range of different communication systems. The position will be within the Product Line, our internal project organisation which drives procurement and development our new ideas and concepts in Wind Power.

SCADA Communication is part of Wind Power which has 2100 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect travelling to international construction sites in relation to your work.

Your key tasks will be to

  • perform conceptual design of radio setup for offshore wind farms in Europe, APAC and the US
  • prepare technical tender documents
  • ensure technical specifications are fit for contractual and sourcing purposes
  • align technical interfaces with other scopes in the wind farm and with third parties
  • participate in contract negotiations with our procurement team.

Furthermore, you will participate in the investigation of requirements and supply chains in new markets as well as describe, plan and potentially execute technical development projects. The current technologies within our scope include, TETRA, VHF FM and AM, Line of Sight, AIS, ADS-B, wireless technologies such as 4G, WiMax and Redline.

Your qualifications and core competences include that you

  • have had hands-on experience with some or all of the above-mentioned technologies
  • have a strong foundation in the technical area
  • have experience with technical project management, working with contract documents, technical standards and conceptualising of radio setups
  • may have experience as a tender engineer or have manged the technical side of large radio integration projects, preferably with offshore experience
  • are proficient in the use of the MS Office suite, as this will be your primary tool for the job.

Moreover, it is seen as an advantage if you have knowledge about tendering procedures and the FIDIC contract framework. As we are an international company and work closely together with our colleagues abroad, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently. You are a good team player and have a goal-oriented approach to your work. Having a strong personal drive, you are able to make and implement decisions and to take the leading role in order to achieve results. Furthermore, you are able to prioritise your tasks and find the appropriate balance between delegation and personal execution of tasks.
