Edlund is looking for a developer for state-of-the-art cloud-based calculation platform, used for solvency and risk management

Do you think it is exciting to implement insurance mathematical models, developed in collaboration with the universities, on a cloud platform? Do you have experience with development of quantitative software, and a background in either computer science, science, or engineering? Then this might be something for you…

About the job

We are looking for a skilled and ambitious quantitative developer, to help us with the development of Actulus, Edlund’s state-of-the-art calculation platform for solvency- and risk management in life insurance. We have just started a 4-year research project in collaboration with the universities, to develop a next-generation calculation platform for asset liability modelling.

As part of the Actulus team you will get to combine your quantitative modelling skills, with software development. You are going to work with development and implementation of insurance mathematical models, and on the full software stack, including web front-end and cloud-based calculation infrastructure. You will be part of the whole development process, starting with analysis over implementation, to test and documentation.

We are right now 10 developers in Actulus, of which about half of us holds a PhD.

Your qualifications
We expect that you:

  • Have a background in computer science, science, or engineering. A PhD is considered a plus.
  • Have at least a few years of experience with development of quantitative software, either at university or from the industry.
  • Have experience with a programming language like either C#, Java, Python, or C++.
  • Are fluent in English (written and orally).

We also consider it a plus, if you have experience with one or more of the following areas:

  • Numerical analysis and scientific computing.
  • Functional programming and domain-specific languages
  • Development of commercial software, including version control, release cycles, code reviews, and unit testing.

About you

  • A team player that is motivated by working closely together with highly skilled colleagues, on complex problems.
  • Curious, open, ambitious, and persistent.
  • High standards for quality.

What can you expect…
Edlund is an exciting workplace where you become part of an informal environment, with special emphasis on high professionalism and sparring from deeply committed and skilled colleagues. As an employee, you are valued and the working environment is prioritized high. In order to create good results, we also have to work well together socially. We place great demands on your personal and professional skills, but at the same time offer exciting challenges in an informal and un-bureaucratic organization, where we consider the workplace a good place to be. We firmly believe, that there must be a balance between private and work life. For that reason, we have full flex and aim for a 35-hour working week on average. In addition, we offer a good salary, profit sharing, health insurance and pension.
