Promotion Manager for 2-stroke Marine Engines
Share your passion for engineering with like-minded enthusiasts around the world

As our technical solution expert you will work with design engineers, fleet managers, ship owners and many others, sharing technical information and getting them hooked on our innovative technology.
- Thomas Storgaard Hansen, Head of Promotion & Customer Support.

The job - Inform, engage, inspire
Your main mission will be to spread the word about our two-stroke marine engines and GenSet solutions. You will not be directly responsible for closing deals, yet it is your goal to create awareness about MAN Energy Systems and inspire potential clients to seek us out in the future.

You will do so by talking to technical employees of ship owners and other clients, about the technical specifications and advantages of our solutions - either directly or through our local promotion mangers in your assigned territories around the world.

You will be working within different cultures around the world and on different levels of an organization. One day your relation is on Director level in a large company – the next day sea going engineers. Your communications skills are excellent and you understand how to direct your communication to the different stakeholders, always keeping in mind that you have a technical team behind you to help clear out any technical issue or questions you might get. You never give promises that you cannot keep - and always make sure that your information is correct and up to date.

Specifically, you will:

Lead and provide direction, technical information and advice to promoters and promotion teams in your assigned territories around the world
Communicate with clients, both over the phone and face-to-face, to provide technical clarification and well-founded arguments on why our technology is the right choice
Develop an understanding of the clients, their business, current projects and potential needs in the future
Conduct technical and commercial presentations at seminars and fairs
You will meet regularly with clients and colleagues. Therefore, you will travel around 60 days per year, but often just for a few days at a time – occasionally 1 week at a time if you are travelling outside of Europe.

Qualifications - Engineer with a love for maritime technology
Functioning as a central expert, advisor and a leader, it is important that you excel at communicating with a vast array of people around the world. Likewise, you have the ability to quickly acquire a detailed understanding of our business at both a technical and commercial level.

Furthermore, you:

  • Have a background as mechanical engineer, naval architect, marine engineer, or the like
  • Have 5+ years of experience preferably from working in a marine technical department
  • Speak and write English fluently
  • You are acquainted with marine propulsion systems and MAN Energy Solutions two-stroke marine engines and GenSet solutions, though it is not a must
  • Are outgoing you like to travel and build relations within different cultures
  • Have strong communication skills and are extraordinarily good at stakeholder management
  • Are professional and know when to reach out to your team for advice
  • Are passionate about our products, eager to learn more and share your knowledge
