We are looking for an experienced, committed, structured and agile Project Manager to join our Technology and Product Development Department. As a Project Manager you report to our Project Office Manager and become a part of a team consisting of eight competent colleagues with various backgrounds.

In the role as Project Manager, your main tasks are to plan, coordinate and execute various development projects from idea phase to finished product within the prescribed scope of the project. For this reason, your primary responsibility is to ensure that the project delivers the required products within the specified limits for e.g., time, costs, quality, scope, and risks as well as ensuring that the project produces a result that can fulfill the goals defined in the business case.

Some of your key responsibilities are e.g.:

  • Coordinate day-to-day work in relation to effective implementation of projects
  • Plan and allocate resources to your sprints and project.
  • Adhere to agreed budgets, time, and activity plans.
  • Ensure that relevant people and departments are involved and informed in the development process (Through SCRUM rituals etc.)
  • Prepare periodic reporting on burndown charts and overall backlog progress.
  • Support the business with new product ideas and accessories with the SCRUM team.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with external business partners.
  • Provide technical support, disseminate product knowledge, and support training and education.
  • Executing customer projects according to applicable quality management system.
  • Support design proposals for new projects with associated budget, time, and activity plans.
  • Together with management work on continuous improvement on processes and workflow and adopt the Agile methods that will develop Ballard in the future.

In return, we expect that
You have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience from a similar position where you have worked extensively with project management and have gained practical knowledge of product development and bringing a product from concept to serial production.

You have a background as mechanical, electrical engineer or similar relevant education. Through your experience and education, you have gained a solid understanding of engineering, operations, as well as commercial team functions and which benefits these teams bring to the project.

If you have further education within Project Management including certifications such as Prince2, IPMA, PMP etc., or Certified SCRUM Master - preferably from hardware development - this is considered a huge advantage.

On the personal side
You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a willingness to interact frequently with individuals and groups for project planning, and a proven ability to communicate effectively with customers

You are a team-player, and you have an ability to work cooperatively across the organization

You know that the devil is in the detail, and it comes to your natural to be detail-oriented to ensure all tasks meet the expected quality within the agreed timeframe

You have an agile mindset and navigate seamless in a dynamic work environment where things might change from minute to minute

You have strong English skills – both orally and written
