GEA is looking for a Dairy Engineer

We have some of the best minds in evaporation and drying, working on a some of the most exciting projects in the industry, but we need a liquid dairy master to help!

We are looking for a dairy engineer with a strong liquid background to join the APC Dairy Powders and Nutritional Formulae EMEA Team located in Søborg, Copenhagen.

You will be a key player in ensuring that GEA maintains our leading position providing solutions and technologies to dairy customers worldwide.

Our team specialises in the integration of equipment from many different internal and external suppliers to deliver complete processing lines customers. Delivering the best factory to take liquid milk and create a range of powder products. Our projects range in size from small scale-ups to the largest in the world.

Job profile
Using your strong background in liquid dairy you will play a key role in integrating different GEA technologies on large powder plant projects. On complex projects, you will focus on the liquid interactions of different technologies and implement and improve engineering best practice. You will engage with many different stakeholders from customers, sales engineers, suppliers and your surrounding colleagues with the goal of ensuring a “first time right” approach to the detailed engineering of these large projects. You will join a team of highly skilled colleagues in the fields of evaporation, drying, and project execution, and gain a high level of exposure within GEA and with some of our most valued customers.

Some of the key areas of focus will be:

  • Owning the best practice for CIP and CIP kitchens for evaporation and drying
  • Optimising operations schedules to minimise capital costs and maintain high plant availability
  • Develop and own the standards review of complete plants for CIP
  • You should expect approx. 80 overnight travel days per year. Traveling to new installations, participating in sales and technical meeting with customers, and to work with our colleagues who are located across Europe and the world.

Personal profile 
For this position you will have a strong liquid dairy background, an out-going personality, eye for detail, initiative, and above all else, a relentless passion to always improve.

Our environment is fast-paced with multiple tasks to manage simultaneously, which will require you to work in a structured manner and be able to prioritise. We place a high value on professional integrity and expect high performance.

You must enjoy working in a team and communicate fluently in English. It is a plus if you have mastered a second or third language.

Some of the following experience is also seen as desirable:

  • Experience in the operations of dairy production   
  • Experience working in a large project environment
  • Experience with evaporation and/or drying
  • Experience with CIP dairy applications 

Qualifications
You have a relevant master’s degree in engineering; such as chemical, process, dairy, or food technology, 

Full professional proficiency in English. Danish and German is considered an advantage.
