FORCE Technology in Kgs. Lyngby is looking for a Project Engineer for our wind tunnel activities. Do you want to use your experience within ship and offshore aerodynamics? Are you keen to drive international client projects? Then you might be our new colleague!

About the role and key responsibilities

As our new Project Engineer in the Wind Team, you will be responsible for the daily coordination, planning and execution of wind tunnel projects. You will set up and conduct testing in the wind tunnels, in close cooperation with our wind tunnel technicians.

Some of your other key tasks will be:

  • model design, setup of measuring equipment and execution of tests
  • reporting and data analysis
  • communication with clients during projects
  • participation in the team’s consultancy activities.

You will join a dedicated and skilled team in a company, which has a strong focus on assisting worldwide clients, with value creating consultancy, related to wind engineering and aerodynamics.

Your primary work location is at our location in Kgs. Lyngby and refer to Senior Team Leader, Hydro and Aerodynamics.

The Wind Team is part of the Department for Hydro- and Aerodynamics in the Maritime, Air & Sound Business Development Unit. The team performs all the department’s tasks related to wind tunnel testing and wind engineering including R&D activities. This covers wind tunnel measurements of, e.g., loads on ships and offshore structures and flow field measurements to assess local flow characteristics. Furthermore, the team provides consultancy assistance to our clients, based on the measured results in connection with design optimization and troubleshooting.  

Your profile

You most likely have a master’s degree in naval architecture - alternatively in mechanical or civil engineering. Furthermore, we imagine that you bring:

  • an interest in and flair for experimental work and data acquisition
  • knowledge of aerodynamics and wind engineering
  • experience with and understanding of data analysis
  • knowledge of programming (e.g., Matlab) and 3D drawing tools (Rhino, AutoCAD) preferred
  • good at planning and executing projects to meet deadlines within allocated resources.

In addition to the above, you have an analytical and structured approach in your daily work and provide professional and high-quality services to our customers.

You thrive working in an international environment, with colleagues of various nationalities and clients from many different countries. Therefore, it is important that you have good communication skills and speak and write English at a professional level.

We provide the relevant in-house training in connection with measuring procedures and application of tools used for data login and analysis.
