Preparations for the construction of the 18 km long Fehmarnbelt Immersed Tunnel between Rødbyhavn on Lolland in Denmark and Puttgarden on Fehmarn in Germany are well underway. Femern A/S is responsible for the planning, construction and operation of the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel. The company is part of the Danish state-owned Sund & Bælt Group.

The Job
You will be a part of the Tunnel Dredging and Reclamation (TDR) team who is primarily responsible for the work harbours and the dredging of the tunnel trench. We are now 25 engaged team members and within couple of months our team will grow with some new colleague. Working alongside the TDR Contract/Project Director and the TDR Project Controls Manager for Planning, Interfaces & Quality you will fulfil a key role in the TDR Team and in the multi-disciplinary project controls management as well as cross-departmental collaboration and coordination of the TDR reporting and risks.

Your key tasks will include:
As the TDR Project Controls Manager for Reporting and Risks, you will be the cornerstone of the TDR Team’s entire reporting and risk management, as well as upstream reporting to executive management and across Femern A/S and towards your counterparts at the TDR Contractors and Service Providers.

Besides taking part in the finalisation of the TDR Team’s and the Technical Division’s reporting tools, you will ensure that professional competences are further developed, and that processes and tools are standardised and implemented to support the project’s needs and progress, as well as development and regularly adjust Key Performance Indices.

This includes internal and external project reporting and maintenance of corporate dashboards reporting and risk tools, e.g. reporting progress of design and construction activities, health & safety, quality, etc. The reporting will happen in close cooperation with TDR’s various discipline lead, the TDR Contract/Project Director and the TDR Project Controls Manager for Planning, Interfaces & Quality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new dashboards relevant for the Tunnel Dredging & Reclamation Contract (and later other contracts on the Femern project)
  • Maintain existing dashboards and update them as the project progresses
  • Develop and maintain dashboards related to the following disciplines; Time/progress, Risks, Finance, Quality, Health & Safety, Environment & Climate, Organisation, Social Responsibilities, Permits
  • Discuss and agree with discipline leads how reporting can be developed so that it provides value to the managers
  • Establish overview on reporting and reporting frequencies
  • Ensure that the required validated data are timely and accurately provided from various sources, e.g. Planner, Design & Engineering Manager, Construction Manager, contractor
  • Ensure that collected data are transferred to Femern A/S’ reporting tools, such as ‘Targit’ and ‘Predict’, and that the reporting achieves its intended layout and presentation to the recipients.

Your profile
You are a dynamic and proactive project manager with aspirations toward project controls with good attention to details and strong collaboration.

You have a Bachelor's degree in civil construction, engineering or equivalent with more than 7-10 years’ experience preferable from Reporting and Project Controls management most likely on similar complex projects.

Therefore, the ideal candidate will have the following key competencies & qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in reporting and project controls
  • Experience with project control management and preferably competences equivalent to PMI, PMP, IPMA or Prince2
  • It is an advantage to have knowledge of the reporting tool Power BI

Essential criteria

  • Strong communication skills, enabling you to manoeuvre efficiently in a complex international matrix environment and having the ability to create good relationships within the team and with your stakeholders
  • Practical ability to utilise critical project management concepts (including progress reporting).
  • Experience in project management preferably on complex civil or infrastructure projects including the understanding of how project management controls relate to other project functions such as Time/progress, Health and Safety, Quality, Environment & Climate, Risk, finance procurement, contract management, social responsibilities, permits etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of reporting for preferably both marine and land-based activities and especially Dredging and Reclamation works
  • Native, bilingual or full professional proficiency, in English
