Join FOSS as as Product Engineer 
As a Product Engineer you will take full technical ownership of instruments in production after release from our New Product Introduction (NPI) team. Furthermore, you will maintain and drive further improvements of the product quality from sales release to End-of-Sales (7+ years support of spares). You will ensure smooth transitioning from NPI to volume production in close collaboration with the NPI Project Manager. You will report to the Director of Production Support and be a part of an exciting and expanding team that currently consist of 3 dedicated colleagues.

Primary tasks
As our new Production Engineer, you will:

  • Ensure optimal quality of the product regarding performance and reliability through continues improvements in collaboration with R&D & Quality
  • Support line managers in optimization of the layout of the production line incl. deviation management and continues improvements on the assembly time.
  • Be in charge of initial problem solving on the shop floor in strong collaboration with Production Technicians, Quality, NPI and R&D and act as a link between these departments
  • Facilitate A3/systematic problem solving as well as plan and facilitate structured trials as part of problem solving
  • Monitor and optimize production tools – new improved solutions for better quality, higher efficiency, lower cost etc.
  • Ensure clear stakeholder management
  • Ensure optimal SPC (Statistical Process Control) data & setup to support pro-active data driven activities
  • Facilitate technical sparring and implementation of Engineering changes
  • Assist implementing LEAN processes and tools, as defined by our LEAN specialist

Qualifications
We expect your educational background to be in engineering, e.g. a bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical, electrical or production engineering and that you have extensive experience as a production product engineer in the industry.

You have a quality mindset with focus on securing optimal production quality of the product regarding performance and reliability. In order to succeed, it is inherited you have a very high knowledge of the full value chain in production from start to finish. You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can facilitate structured problem-solving process (A3). You are data driven, pro-active and address issues before they become problems.

Familiarity with the product development cycle, quality standards and a high degree knowledge of technology understanding (FTIR, NIR, X-Ray, Flow Cytometry) is an advantage as well as knowledge within LEAN tools and processes.

Personal skills
You understand and appreciate the dynamics and urgency in a production environment, and you are curious and enjoy obtaining new knowledge and putting it to use. Knowing how to structure your workday, you strive to gain a holistic overview and then execute on findings.
