Product Quality Manager - Wine, Meat and Enzymes

For our global QA organization we are looking for a Product Quality Manager to be globally responsible for the QA setup in our Wine, Meat and Enzymes product range. You will be responsible for managing the quality of our Wine, Meat and Enzymes product area from end-2-end i.e. across Innovation, Operations, Logistics, Commercial Development and Sales. 

Chr. Hansen is the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of microbial cultures to the food industry, but also pharma and feed are part of our core business. To maintain and grow our business it is important that we ensure customer trust in Chr. Hansen as a supplier by controlling and continuously developing quality and food safety of our products. 

Quality Manager and go-to person  
Most importantly you will drive establishment and maintenance of the needed and relevant QA frameworks to ensure quality and support business development and you will be the Quality go-to person for Sales, Commercial Development, Innovation, Operations and logistics on issues related to the value chain product quality and quality framework. 

Your main responsibilities will be to: 

  • Support in defining product requirements for quality and product safety in Innovation projects and in associated HACCP framework in relation to product application 
  • Define specification framework and needed product surveillance/analysis programs to support claims and ensure performance in the market 
  • Drive a professional complaint handling and investigation within the product area, maintain global overview of complaint issues and ensure that needed actions are taken 
  • Drive implementation of developed frameworks, develop training materials and conduct training of local QA and other relevant parts of the organization  
  • Drive the quality agenda and report on quality KPIs to Business management and represent quality in relevant leadership teams and cross functional groups 
  • People manager for local QA people at relevant sites 

Experienced Quality Manager with strong business and process acumen 
You hold a master degree in food science or similar. This is backed by working experience with business and production processes in the food industry and also from roles involving people management responsibility. As such, you bring leadership skills and experience as line manager or project manager. You are proactive and have a collaborative approach with proven ability to lead teams and act as team player. 

It is essential that you have the ability to work on strategic, tactical and operational level and that you are systematic, customer and result oriented. To succeed in this role, you need experience with and understanding of Quality Assurance, food safety standards and ability to align quality requirements to product application and business needs. 

Finally, as you will be working cross-organizationally you will need all of your ability to collaborate and create sustainable relationships – across cultural, professional and geographical borders. This takes very good communication skills in English, written and spoken. As such, you can transmit your personal enthusiasm to other people around you and ensure deliveries according to plans and deadlines.
