Do you want to take the lead in developing/maturing new retrofit solutions for our MAN four stroke engines, turbochargers & exhaust gas treatment solutions in service? What am I going to do?

To secure our future growth according to a clear strategy and strong customer focus, we are looking for a Product Manager that has good technical understanding and commercial awareness. MAN Energy Solutions’ retrofit concept consists of a broad range of solutions, all with the purpose of bringing existing engines in operation up to the current standards. This means working on providing solutions for lowering running costs such as fuel, lubrication oil, TBO extensions as well as solutions for decarbonisation and automation.

As Product Manager you will be responsible for all commercial & technical aspects of preparing, maturing and maintaining Retrofit & Upgrade products relevant for EEXI & CII regulations with support from our R&D and Engineering organization. This includes:

  • Acquiring regulatory knowledge on EEXI & CII (incl. calculation guidelines)
  • Evaluation of product ideas
  • Identification of the products with highest market potential
  • Ensuring the profitability (CM2) of the products
  • Ensuring that commercial & technical documentation is created and maintained
  • Ensuring that products are launched according to schedule
  • Launching products together with our sales department to the market through our global PrimeServ international group companies organization
  • Facilitating internal workshops & trainings as well as external webinars
  • Product Lifecycle Management including forecasting, product optimization etc.
  • Having Product Responsibility for in-market products
  • Supporting of our Sales and Project Execution departments
  • Having close corporation with our R&D departments
  • Being in the interface between Sales and Engineering

Who am I?

You have previous experience as a Product Manager or you have good experience in international project management with a commercial mindset and would like to take the lead on taking new products to market.

You will come with a bachelor; master or equivalent in a relevant field e.g. Marine or Industrial Engineering, or similar. Your project management skills are on a high level and you are used to communicating with both internal and external stakeholders with your excellent English skills in both speech and writing.

We imagine that you:

  • Possess a strong drive, are self-driven with a proactive initiative-taking approach
  • Excel in the project management toolbox and can navigate in a complex organization
  • Possess good communication and conflict solving skills
  • Have experience with product management of technical projects/products, preferably from an international company
  • Possess sound technical, commercial & economical understanding
  • Possess advanced MS Excel skills
  • Are open to travel to our corporate HQ in Augsburg on a regular basis

Preferably you:

  • Hold a project management certification e.g. Prince2, PMI, IPMA or equivalent
  • Have experience within the marine industry or with engine technologies
  • Have experience with going to market with new products
  • Have basic SAP skills

You will be part of the Product Management team within the PrimeServ Germany Retrofit & Upgrades department. The product managers are maturing/developing new retrofit & upgrade solutions. We are a diverse team of skilled and dedicated people, focusing on product management and project management. Your future colleagues are situated in Augsburg, Germany, in Holeby, Frederikshavn and Copenhagen in Denmark as well as in our other international group companies all over the world.
