Would you like to play an important part in our further journey towards decarbonisation and sustainability? Then join our Retrofit & Upgrade department at MAN Energy Solutions, where we implement retrofit solutions to existing propeller and propulsion systems. Our retrofit portfolio consists of a broad range of solutions applying the latest developments within engine technology and propulsion systems to vessels in service. As our new product manager, you will become part of  a key business department in the aftersales division PrimeServ. What are you going to do?
As our new product manager, you will be part of the development of new propeller and propulsion solutions, as well as taking an active part in sales projects with tendering tasks. You will work in a close cooperation with our engineering departments in order to scope the solutions and projects. You will assist our sales team with creating sales documents, technical documentation and support in the tendering phase of sales projects.

More specifically, you will be:

  • Managing and developing retrofit solutions for propeller and propulsion systems.
  • Be responsible for tendering tasks in connection with sales projects.
  • Support our retrofit sales and execution teams before, during and after sales order.
  • Coordinating activities and following up with a broad variety of departments.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining commercial and technical documentation for our solutions.

Who are you?
You have previous experience as product manager or from another position where both technical and commercial competences have been used. You are used to, and thrive in a busy working environment, and you are willing to assume the product responsibility for a number of retrofit solutions.

We imagine that you will come with a bachelor, master or equivalent in a relevant field, e.g. mechanical engineer, marine engineer or naval architect. It would be an advantage if you have experience with diesel engines and propulsion systems for ships.

It would be ideal if your technical knowledge is on a high level and you are also used to communicating with both internal and external stakeholders. We do however also offer intensive product training in order to give you the right competences needed.

Since you will work in an international environment, you should have excellent English skills in both speaking and writing.

We imagine that you:

  • Have experience with technical products and solutions, preferably from the maritime industry.
  • Experience with technical scoping and tendering of sales projects.
  • Have a good commercial awareness and a customer-centric attitude.
  • Are structured, self-driven, and result oriented with a focus on quality in your daily work.
  • You thrive in a busy and international working environment, and know how to handle multiple tasks and smaller projects at the same time.

How is your new team/area of business?
You will be part of the Product Management department in Retrofit & Upgrade. The retrofit & upgrade department consist of 70 employees working out of Frederikshavn, Holeby and Copenhagen. The retrofit propulsion team in Frederikshavn drives development, sales and execution of our four-stroke propulsion engine and propeller solutions. As our product manager you will mature/develop new retrofit & upgrade solutions across all of our product lines, covering two-stroke, four-stroke genset, propeller and propulsion.

We are a diverse team of skilled and dedicated people, focusing on product management,. We work closely together with our colleagues in the sales and order execution departments. As our new colleague you will become part of a casual, positive and assisting work environment. This particular position will be based in Frederikshavn, where you will join our team of 7 people, consisting of sales managers, coordinators, product managers and project managers, all dealing with propeller and propulsion retrofits.
