Process Engineer with equipment commissioning experience for our Pilot Plant
We are looking for an additional engineer for our Pilot Plant in Hørsholm within the field of fermentation and downstream process development.

Pilot Plant sets the standard for the production of bacterial cultures in Chr. Hansen. We have extensive expertise regarding development of robust and feasible fermentation and downstream processes for production of bacterial cultures. Our core activities are development of fermentation processes in pilot scales up to 700 l, and stabilisation of cultures in order to up-scale and implement in Chr. Hansen’s Culture Plants globally. For this work Pilot Plant holds facilities suitable for extensive experimental work.

In Pilot Plant we are 17 ambitious colleagues working together to create processes for any microorganisms. We enjoy putting all our effort in contributing to a fun environment always focussing on high quality and efficiency. 

The job
As our new Process Engineer your main responsibilities will be design, implementation and commissioning of new process equipment. You interact with different stakeholders both internally and externally. Collaborating with external stakeholders such as subcontractors, it will be your responsibility to make sure that user requirements are fulfilled. You will also collaborate and interact with the internal stakeholders from maintenance, engineering and the users. It will be your responsibility to make decisions based on the divergent interests of stakeholders.

Further you will 

  • Participate in equipment tests at subcontractors manufacturing facilities making sure that the equipment is compliant to our requirements
  • Write, review and approve documentation, e.g. during FAT/SAT and CV/PV.

About you
The ideal candidate holds a relevant academic education degree in bioprocess engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field. Practical expertise is a definite advantage.
Practical experience is a definite advantage but not a requirement.

Further:

  • You have knowledge of and a strong interest in several of the following operations: sterilisation, fermentation, centrifugation, filtration, spray-drying and freeze-drying.
  • You have good understanding of the multiple disciplines involved in a bioprocessing pilot plant: Sanitary design, automation, fermentation, maintenance.
  • You have excellent skills both speaking and writing Danish and English.

As a person you can put you understanding of bioprocess equipment into real life solutions and understand the importance of hygiene both from a design and process point of view.

As you participate in and contribute to cross-functional teams, to successfully achieve project and business goals, it’s important that you work systematically, team-oriented and that you can handle several assignments in parallel, often with conflicting priorities. You have a can-do attitude towards work, combined with a good sense of humor.
