For some of our innovative gut sampling devices we are looking for a person with chemistry-related background to work on changing our current 3D printing material to Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) materials. You will work directly with one of our PhD students and the gut sampling team. You need to be action-oriented person, who does not always think twice, but rather gets things done.

About the position
Your tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Working in a close contact with our material expert
  • Probing potential GRAS materials for 3D printing
  • Synthesis of 3D printing materials in the form of biodegradable resin/filaments
  • 3D printing of our sampling devices using developed materials

About you
To be the right fit for this job, we are looking for someone who has:

  • A master student with polymer engineering or other chemistry related background
  • Practical experience in synthesis/fabrication of polymers
  • Understanding of polymer properties (strength, degradation, safety)
  • Practical experience in 3D printing methods (such as SLA and FDM)
  • Team player, enjoy working cross functional and with people with different educational background
  • Ability to work independently within the lab

  • Can do simple CAD designs
  • Regulatory approval
  • Filament extrusion
  • Medical devices
  • Start-ups

We also require that you are fluent in English (verbal and writing).

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement for student lecturers at universities etc. (SUL). See hourly pay rates here.

This is a 5 months part-time (2 or 2.5 days per week) student job that starts as soon as possible or on June 1st. Starting date and working hours / week are negotiable. Working hours are on average 15-20 hours per week.
