We are looking for two new Platform Owners to join our newly established business division, focusing entirely on new software solutions to strengthen the digitalization across the supply chain of the thousands of food companies that FOSS already works closely with. 

FOSS is a family-driven company that has been in the business for many years, but the increased demand and pressure on providing food of high quality in sustainable ways requires new thinking and smarter ways of operating. We are part of the FOSS group, but have 100% focus on delivering software services to food and agri customers around the world. We supply the majority of the TOP100 Food companies in the world with analytical solutions and digital services, but our ambitions reach further. Our vision is “Feeding food value chains with trust, quality and insights”. For over 30 years, data science has been at the heart of driving the accuracy, speed and convenience of our analytical solutions. The new offerings from FSS will expand the range of insights, reporting services and decision support tools we provide for our customers.  

We are scaling our already existing development organization to meet the demands of the new software division

This is why we are looking for two experienced Platform Owners, to help lead the implementation of the backend platform for our new services. As a Platform Owner, you will act as a Product Owner for a part of the backend platform and work closely with both Product owners, Product Management, architects and developers to define and implement the backend services that allows our customers to optimize and document their food processes. The backend teams creates the foundation to connect devices, integrate data, systems and processes, powered by scalable Cloud Infrastructure and APIs.

The Platform Owner plays a pivotal role in ensuring a solid, scalable, reliable and expandable backend platform that can bring life to our vision of feeding food value chains with trust, quality and insights

Your primary work location will be our Innovation Centre in Hillerød working with backend development teams in Hillerød, Warsaw and St. Petersburg

Your primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Defining and maintaining development team backlog for short term sprint planning
  • Defining and maintaining a long term strategic vision and roadmap for the platform you are responsible for
  • Coordinating the development work within the backend platform development teams as well as with other development teams depending on our solutions.
  • Facilitating the planning, retrospective and demo sessions as well as technical discussions in the team
  • Representing the development team towards the outside stakeholders, making sure progress is transparent, and relevant input is fed back into the team.

You’ll be a success when we have a motivated team that is working efficiently, in the right balance between shorter term capabilities supporting business goals and longer term architectural vision, as well as putting the attention and effort into the areas where we benefit the most – either in terms of business goals or reducing technical debt.

 What you bring to the table  

The ideal candidate has a solid technical background within software development and has moved on to take a broader responsibility with an interest in agile development processes, organising, coordinating and planning activities in order to optimise the output of the development team. On top of that, you inspire your teams to continuously improve based on enthusiasm and motivation.

Experience with larger cloud based systems that are handling large volume of data in a secure manner, is a very big plus. You speak and write English fluently. Scandinavian language is a benefit.

About you

You like a workday that changes from technical discussions about software design implications to discussions with product management about feature prioritizations.

You enjoy being the spider in the middle of the web, leveraging your contacts around the organization, to make sure the development team moves on with development on the right backlog items.

You have a can-do attitude – you are proactive and like to manage different tasks across your whole range of skills and across the FOSS Software Services division.
