About the department
The job is located in Novo Nordisk Research & Development area in Bagsværd in the department Chemistry Pilot Plant.
Our main responsibility in the department is to develop chemical processes and produce Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) and intermediates for pre-clinical and clinical studies and as a “one off” produce API for a marketed product. Furthermore, the department is currently facing the exciting challenge of preparing the facility for a marketed production.

You will work in a dedicated team responsible for production of the marketed product. After end of production, you will have the opportunity to explore professional development in other up or down stream pilots within CMC-Pilots. CMC Pilots is known to have highly skilled and motivated colleagues with a “can-do” attitude, who constantly challenge themselves to develop and upscale robust processes.

The position
Initially your main responsibility will be to prepare and qualify the facility for API production of a marketed product. Subsequently, you will supervise the GMP production of four steps within classical organic chemistry process for approximately 6 months.

You will be responsible for the implementation of the processes in our pilot plant facility including preparation of documents for qualification, training, master batch records, production planning, compliance and release. You will participate in continuous optimisation of the chemical and working processes.

During the preparation and execution phase, there will be close interaction with the production area and support functions. Furthermore, there is a close collaboration with the adjacent teams, which are responsible for large scale chromatographic purification and several process chemistry disciplines such as classical organic and solid phase chemistry as well as flow chemistry.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the cross-road between manufacturing and development and to set your mark on an exciting and unique project.

Qualifications
You hold a master or PhD in organic chemistry, chemical engineering, Pharmacy or related. Ideally, you have experience from working in a Pilot or a Production facility where you have gained experience with up scaling of chemical processes under GMP is preferred. You possess the necessary technical curiosity and insight to drive improvements of our existing facilities and equipment.

On a personal level, you are a self-starter who thrives with driving tasks independently to the finish line. As you have a structured approach to your work, you can engage in several processes while prioritising your efforts optimally. We expect you to have excellent collaboration skills, to be structured and reliable and to have an ability to make the right decisions in a hectic work environment.
