Headquartered in Hilleroed, Denmark, FOSS is an international family-owned company providing analytical equipment that helps to improve production processes and product quality in food, agricultural and other industries.  

Are you experienced in the cross disciplinary fields of test equipment, instrument development and manufacturing? Do you possess excellent leadership skills, being able to bring out the best in people? Can you take the technical lead and spearhead a cohesive and ambitious direction in a group of highly skilled test technicians and engineers?

If so, then you may be the experienced and ambitious people manager we are looking for to lead our test equipment development team.

The job
The test equipment team is part of the R&D services department, and employs 12 highly skilled R&D engineers and technicians within electronics, mechanics and software. The group is responsible for development, maintenance and support of test equipment for FOSS products, including Instrument - and module - production tests and PCB functional test.

In close collaboration with the team members, you will help us raise the bar for our testing and secure that our test strategy and test systems match future needs.

You will help us align the way we test, introduce best practice and make sure that our test strategy & systems are efficient, contemporary and meet future standards.

The tasks
As a people manager, you play a central role in the team. You will provide direction, leadership, technical sparring and coordination of the team.

You will have the responsibility to further strengthen our technical test solutions and head the development and implementation of a future test strategy. You will challenge individuals and the team to find common ground, question if we are testing in the right ways and make sure that we always strive towards finding the most optimal testing systems.

You will be the entry-point for technical support requests from the rest of the FOSS organization and take responsibility to steer, coordinate and execute tasks and projects in the team. You will maintain an overview of the tasks and ensure that the team’s deliveries and performance is in line with the direction and chosen approach.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining high job satisfaction, as well as a positive, collaborative and performance-oriented culture, where team members utilize strengths and use sparring as a tool for improvement.

Qualifications
You have a M.Sc. degree as Electronic Engineer or similar. You have probably started your own career in R&D or development and worked intensively with test equipment development.

You share our passion for bringing solutions to the market that can contribute to the sustainable use of agricultural resources and the health of people in the world. We picture you as a little bit of a “nerd” in your area, which is critical to be able to lead people who are themselves passionate about what they do.

In order for you to provide strong technical sparring to the team, you have a solid knowledge of LabView, Teststand, test hardware, test data management (e.g. SPC), structural test techniques (Boundary Scan, Flying Probe, AOI) and Agile development processes.

You know about standard measuring techniques, embedded and PC software development and general instrument development.

Skills
We expect you to have experience with people leadership, people management and project management including budgeting. You have a recognized ability to get other people on board, create ownership and deal with many stakeholders.You have experience with building an effective and cohesive team. In order to do so, we are looking for someone with strong cooperation and communication skills.

An ability to set the direction combined with creating motivation, high team spirit, a continuous quality focus and strong collaborative linkages with other teams and departments in Foss. We also value a good sense of humor and true interest in science and technology in order for us to deliver quality products and solutions that add value to our customers.
