Packaging Engineer - Specialist

As Packaging Engineer - Specialist (PES) your main responsibilities will be to develop, test and implement Packaging Solutions globally for the full value chain in Chr. Hansen, resulting in approx. 50-60 days of traveling per year, away from the office in Copenhagen

In collaboration with the local production plants, commercial business and business support, the rest of the packaging team and directly reporting to the Team Manager-Global Packaging Management, you’ll play a key role in implementing new and optimized packaging solutions/materials for powder, liquid and frozen products, in packaging lines, storage, transportation, distribution and business customer application. You furthermore have a key collaborating role ensuring governance for changes, by test plans, approval flows and documentation.  
 
Your tasks 

• Develop and Optimize packaging solutions for the full value chain  
• Implementing new packaging materials in our existing lines and in new installations.  
• Testing and approval for new packaging material in close collaboration with the Operation/Sales/Sourcing.  
• Define optimal solutions and issue SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) packaging equipment.  
• Explore, create Global standard methods, specifications, guidelines of Packaging process, components and capabilities.  
• Use of packing technologies for Powder, liquid - Filling, bag in box, pelletizing and standardization across plants.  
• Ensure interaction and communication with stakeholder’s e.g.  

Your personal profile  

• Your educational background is as Engineer (M.SC or B.Sc) or similar technical background
• You have thorough knowledge within packaging material and installation equipment, you know how to approach an assignment and work methodologically
• You have extensive experience (5+ years) as Packaging Engineer - Specialist in a manufacturing company
• You know how to work with quality and efficiency of packaging in a manufacturing company form the food and pharma industries
• You have excellent communication-, training- and facilitation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team and create cross-group collaboration
• You are fluent in English, verbally as well as in written, and have the confidence to communicate at all levels in the organization
• You are pro-active, self-propelled and stay focused on the scope and deliverables
• You must be motivated to engage yourself socially in the corporate culture and be responsible, trustworthy, and resourceful
• You are flexible and creative and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
• You get things done by balancing efforts between cost and design
