Description of the job and tasks
Are you passionate about open-source and self-hosted solutions?

Nowadays, many startups have their own server or some cloud credits to spend but they still use a lot of "free" services that makes money by digging into their data. This very data, that is often confidential and makes this business unique and replicable. But startups don't realize how easy it has become to deploy and maintain self-hosted solutions that don't cost them anything at all. Let's change this, together, by creating an ultra-easy-to-deploy set of apps that a business can run of. We already started, and now we need you to take over and make it public! It's a bit like https://geek-cookbook.funkypenguin.co.nz/ but so much more simple, it should be accessible to anyone who knows how to configure a basic webserver. You'll be in charge of identifying the best services to run the different parts of the business, test them in the company and once validated, publish it on GitHub.

We are a strong cross disciplinary team with a huge variety of skills, so you'll have the opportunity to discover other aspects of the company, we'll make it easy for you - learning and acquiring new skills is written in our DNA. You'll have the opportunity to broaden the scope of your work by working with others.

Your first tasks in a nutshell:

  • Identify the must-have and nice-to-have services and identify potent container implementation for those
  • Deploy test containers and evaluate their performances
  • Create a scalable and secure architecture with an Identity Management system and deploy it into production
  • Share it and make it easy to use by a noob!

Absolute requirements:

  • Some experience with containers and Docker

Nice to know:

  • Basics about databases, web optimization, proxies, certificates, Apache,…
