Offshore Pipeline Engineer for managing emergency preparedness

Do you have an interest in and experience working with the emergency preparedness, operation and maintenance of offshore pipelines?

Join us and become Offshore Pipeline Engineer in our O&M Offshore Pipelines department, where you’ll become part of a team of professionals involved in all disciplines related to the operation and maintenance of offshore pipelines. The department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of approximately 800 kilometres of offshore pipelines - one oil and two gas transmission pipelines - including associated subsea structures and risers. In general, the department’s responsibility includes asset management, emergency preparedness, preparation of inspection programmes, execution of marine operations, inline inspections (pigging) and integrity assessment.

Your key tasks will be to

  • be responsible for managing and maintaining the emergency preparedness system for the subsea pipelines
  • be responsible for emergency repair scenarios and oil spill preparedness
  • be responsible for preparing emergency exercises, typically desktop exercises
  • develop and maintain relevant company standards, procedures, tools and databases related to pipeline operation and maintenance in accordance with best industry practice
  • evaluate inspection results.

Furthermore, you’ll provide input for budgets and reporting to management. Your work will also include tendering for and review of work related to the maintenance of pipeline systems, including working with and managing the work ordered from contractors and consulting engineering companies.

When familiar with our systems and experienced in emergency scenarios, you’ll be included in a duty roster responding to emergency situations, and you’ll be trained to act as the on-scene-commander in case of an offshore oil spill. Furthermore, you may be part of our pool of offshore client representatives to be present on offshore vessels.

Your competences include that you

  • have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in structural/hydrodynamic engineering or in mechanical engineering. However, other relevant technical educational background could be considered as well
  • have essential experience with emergency preparedness systems
  • have moderate experience within subsea operations and/or pipeline engineering
  • have experience working with and managing engineering/contracting companies, manufacturers and equipment suppliers
  • have a proactive and systematic approach to your work tasks as well as a high focus on health and safety.

Furthermore, you thrive in an international environment and can create good relationships with your colleagues and stakeholders. You speak and write English fluently; knowledge of the Danish language is an advantage.
In collaboration with you, we’ll prepare a training programme for you if relevant, depending on your level of competences.
