Then this newly created and exciting role as Mechanical Technology Lead might be the right opportunity for you.

In this newly established and challenging position, you will be an active contributor to Ambu’s success within our exciting endoscope development. We want to continue to be the world-leader in developing and manufacturing single-use cameras for medical endoscopes. To do that we have established a dedicated cross-disciplinary team to develop the future camera technologies to be used in single-use endoscopes. You will be working with realizing new miniature cameras on the cutting edge of what is possible.

Our Global Innovation team consists of motivated and enthusiastic people located at our headquarters in Ballerup. You join the Technology Research & Image Processing team that consists of five highly skilled and international professionals.

Leading the development of new miniature cameras
Your role will be to lead early technology development activities of miniature cameras mostly done at external partners, aimed for easy integration into product development at a later stage.

Your main responsibilities are to

  • lead technology development tasks together with external partners towards tangible solutions that can be used in the later product development projects
  • secure that the collaborative solutions are useful and fulfil requirements
  • help clarify uncertainties both internally and externally
  • participate in the development, design and engineering of new mechanical solutions for miniature cameras
  • identify user needs of new application areas and translate them into tangible solutions
  • make concepts into prototypes for test and documentation 

Your contact base will be broad, and you will interface with Ambu’s global organisation, all departments involved in product development projects and externally with users, knowledge centers, strategic partners and suppliers.

Mechanical engineering with experience with product development of medical devices
Ideally, you have an educational background within mechanical engineering or similar and have worked with leading development tasks, maybe as a sub-project manager. You have an intuitive understanding of how to collaborate with people and organizations that are not directly reporting to you. 

You have at least five years of experience of developing medical devices, and you have deep understanding of mechanical design of small sizes. You are able to translate user needs into requirements and you have solid experience with plastic or small mechanical construction. You work well in the early part of development where exploration is dominant and uncertainty is high, and you thrive in acquiring new knowledge. 

As a person you are self-motivated, committed and have a strong sense of responsibility towards your work. You are thorough and detail-oriented but at the same time you have great interpersonal skills and have a sense of the situation, which makes you thrive in global teams.

Since we are a global company, you will be involved in cross-cultural collaboration and you will join an international team. Consequently, it is a requirement that you are fluent in English and that you are able to communicate efficiently. Lastly, you thrive in a position that gives you the opportunity to travel approximately 20-30 days a year.
