In this newly established and challenging position, you will contribute actively to Ambu’s success within the development of our exciting single-use endoscopes. We want to continue our position as world leader in single-use endoscopy. To cement that position, we have established a dedicated cross-functional team to further develop the camera technologies inside the endoscopes. You will be working to realise new miniature cameras on the cutting edge of what is possible.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we must become technology champions, and collaborate closely with a palette of external partners, colleagues and stakeholders. On the one hand, it’s our responsibility to integrate different scientific disciplines into our solutions, on the other hand, we have to act as knowledge aggregators within the company while pursuing the innovation opportunities ahead. 

You will be part of a dynamic innovation culture characterised by a strong team spirit. Our Global Innovation team consists of 60 people located at our headquarters in Ballerup. You will join the Technology Research & Image Processing team that consists of four highly skilled and international professionals.

Develop new mechanical technology and solutions for miniature cameras
Your responsibility will be to develop, mature and lead technology development of mechanical solutions for miniature cameras which easily translate into product development.

Your main responsibilities will be to

  • Develop, design and engineer new mechanical solutions for miniature cameras
  • Identify user needs of new application areas and translate them into tangible solutions
  • Translate concepts into tangible prototypes for test and documentation
  • Provide mechanical assistance to the product development teams during their development phases
  • Interact and collaborate with both external and internal partners in a trusting and open manner.

You will have a broad interface: internally with Ambu’s development teams in China, Malaysia and Denmark as well as externally with users, knowledge centers and suppliers.

Mechanical engineering with experience in product development of medical devices
Ideally, you hold an educational background within mechanical engineering or similar.

You have at least 3 years of experience of developing medical devices, and you have thorough knowledge of small size mechanical design. You are able to translate user-needs into mechanical solutions and you have solid experience with plastic and mechanical construction.

As a person you are self-motivated, committed and have a strong sense of responsibility towards your work. You are thorough and detail-oriented, and you have great interpersonal skills. You have sense of occasion, which makes you thrive in global teams.

Since we are a global company, you will be involved in cross-cultural collaboration and you will join an international team. Consequently, you must be fluent in English and be able to communicate efficiently. Lastly, you thrive in a position that gives you the opportunity to travel approximately 20 days a year.
