Our Four-Stroke Design Department looks for a mechanical engineer / machine technician who is eager to convert theory and ideas into practical design. We search for a strong team player motivated to maintain and further develop our engine program in relation to stricter emission regulations, future fuels, new production technologies and general trends.
The job
Your primary job will be project work related to design and maintenance of four-stroke medium speed diesel and dual fuel engines. The daily workday is also characterized by ad
hoc projects where you will contribute as troubleshooter and project colleague for various project managers. Over time you may get the opportunity to form your job content in the direction that motivates you best.
Your main tasks are:
- Design and coordination of new components as well as optimization of existing engine components
- Participation in project work
- Technical correspondence with licensees, primarily in Asia
- Technical support to other departments and customer globally
- Participation in troubleshooting / root cause analysis – often in an international environment
Minor travel activity, domestic and abroad, is expected.
Qualifications
We look for a mechanical engineer / machine technician with:
- Great interest in engines
- Experience with 3-D design programs (preferably CREO)
- Experience from design / installation / operation of diesel engines from shipyard or ship owner
- Independent, committed and result-oriented working methods
- Good communication skills verbally and in writing (Danish and English)
Your new team
You will be part of a team with 12 colleagues. The department has much contact to the other business areas at the site and is an important cornerstone in this business area.
The team is mainly young, however with great experience and large insight, and the work environment is informal, but focused.

We are approx. 1,900 MAN ES employees in Denmark. 150 of our colleagues are located in Holeby; working with design, sales and service. Holeby is the global focal point for MAN’s famous small bore GenSet and propulsion plants. Besides that we work with power plants and aftersales of spare parts and technical Service (PrimeServ).
