Your new role
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in building the best energy storage product in the world

In order to succeed in this role, you must have a can-do-attitude combined with at self-driven and proactive approach. We are building strong partnerships with other organizations, and you will need to be an expert at managing and developing these partnerships in order to maximize the outcome.

You need to be able to translate our customer/user-needs into mechanical solutions. Your primary focus will be on development, 3D designs, prototype manufacturing, testing, validation as well as update maintenance of complex parts. Your responsibility will be to develop, mature and lead technology development of mechanical solutions which easily can be translated into product development.

Since we are a global company, you will be involved in cross-cultural collaboration, and you will join an international team. Consequently, you must be able to communicate efficiently in English.
You will be a part of a dynamic innovation culture characterized by a strong team spirit.

Your background

  • A Mechanical Engineering background with min 5 years’ experience
  • MEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with electrical machines i.e. motor/generators, permanent magnets, and active magnetic bearings or similar is an advantage
  • Experience in the energy sector would be very beneficial and a strong understanding of the factors affecting the development of modern power systems is required
  • Strong machine design skills, both conceptual and analytic
  • Experience with CAD software essential (preferably SOLIDWORKS)
  • Structural analysis in commercial Finite Element software, preferably ANSYS Mechanical is desirable
  • Experience with design featuring fiber composite components is an advantage
  • Experience with vacuum appliances is an advantage
  • Experience with rotor dynamics, structural dynamics, modal analysis, experimental modal analysis
  • Thermal analysis, especially heat transfer and cooling
  • Experience in the process of generating and protecting new patents would be very valuable

Your new responsibilities

  • Translate user requirements into Mechanical Design
  • Your primary focus will be on development, 3D designs, prototype manufacturing, testing & validation
  • Identify user needs for new application areas and translate them into tangible solutions based on existing and new technology
  • Activities such as risk assessment, design reviews and prototyping/testing
  • For the verification and coordination of concept, planning, design, and execution
  • Key role in interfacing with manufactures
  • Work on the creation and protection of new IP
  • Develop full-scale system installation and commissioning protocols
  • Develop test protocols
  • Interact and collaborate with both external and internal partners in a trusting and open manner
