We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Engineering team at our technology hub in Sønderborg, our new office in Kolding or our HQ in Copenhagen.

As our new colleague, you will join a rapidly growing Engineering team and report to the Head of Power Plant Engineering. The Engineering organisation is composed of talented and passionate specialists in Mechanical, Electrical, Grid, Simulation, and Project engineering.

Our top priority is to bring our engineering to the next level, and we see you having an important role in this mission.

Most of our engineers are placed in Sønderborg, next to our advanced 2 MW PV test facility centre, one of the biggest in Europe. Power electronics, data communication, tracking systems, battery storage systems and steel constructions are developed, tested and optimized.

How you will make a difference in Better Energy
You will work alongside specialists to develop new steel solutions, maintain existing designs and participate in new technology projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for optimising designs for easy assembly and cost-saving initiatives.

The job requires getting things done quickly and dealing with a variety of activities. Self-assurance and the attitude to consciously guide towards results while constantly solving problems and engaging the commitment of others is essential in this position.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Construction of power plant steel designs
  • Process development and documentation, including, DFMEA, Control Plans and Work Instructions.
  • Set up and maintain design and process documentation/BOM.
  • Statics and fatigue calculations.
  • Continuous improvement and maintenance
  • Verification and documentation of new designs
  • Supporting the organization related to engineering knowledge and design

You will be located at either our office in Sønderborg, our new office in Kolding or our HQ in Copenhagen. Regular travel between your office and our technology hub in Sønderborg as well as occasional visits to other Better Energy offices must be expected.

So, who are we looking for?
You are an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record showing successful experience developing and implementing new products/systems within an international organisation. We expect you to have a relevant educational background in mechanical engineering or other equivalent BSc or MSc degree.

Our specialised PV constructions are technically advanced and require a technical understanding gained through education or practical experience. You should also have knowledge and experience with structured design methods.

You take initiative, and are action and result-oriented with a focus on innovative and creative problem-solving, despite changing circumstances. Also, you have solid communication skills in English, both spoken and written, and you establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
