Our construction department for Fuel and Hydraulic Control Equipment in Design Small Bore is looking for a Mechanical Engineer, who has an interest in engine construction and is firmly founded in mechanical engineering. The department consists of 8 engineers and technicians who work both individually and in cross-functional teams with a wide range of competencies. This department is in charge of the design of primary and secondary fuel equipment and hydraulic control equipment on our two-stroke engines. The department is also involved in a variety of development projects within this field across the entire organization.

What are you going to do?
As our new Mechanical Engineer, you will be working with two-stroke engine technology which focuses on a high degree of reliability in mechanical properties. You will be constructing and optimizing existing engine components and generating ideas, as well as maturing new designs in corporation with your colleagues.

In addition, you will support our engine builders with production challenges and thus, contribute to MAN’s development of work methods inside our organization. Cooperation and communication with manufacturers of engine components are essential, and will therefore be another vital aspect of your work. You might occasionally have the opportunity to travel to licensees/engine builders or ships in service, in connection with follow-up on new designs.
You will be trained in technical areas necessary for handling the tasks and responsibilities in the department. The training will be organized in accordance with specific needs depending on your profile.

Who are you?
We imagine that:

  • You are an educated Mechanical Engineer, either with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
  • Preferably, you have some experience with 3D drawing programs – we use Siemens NX.
  • You have a desire and knowledge to translate theory into practical design, both in corporation with co-workers and individually.
  • Ideally, you have some experience with project-orientated work and/or project management/coordination as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of diesel engine theory and/or practical construction experience would be an advantage.
  • Solid English skills both oral and written are required. However, it is preferable that you also master Danish on a reasonable level.
