Do you want to make a difference? Ships powered by our engines transport 75% of the world’s seaborne goods, and we are the leaders in the green transformation of the shipping industry. Over 500 large ships with MAN engines are launched every year. They join the vast fleet of container vessels, bulk carriers, tankers and other ships that carries out the transports necessary in our globalized world. From a climate perspective, shipping is a very effective way of transporting goods over long distances. In a time of climate change and global warming, we need to think in new ways and develop new technology to reduce the carbon footprint of seaborne transport.

We, who work with application design in MAN Energy Solutions in Copenhagen, are doing this.

What are you going to do?
You will develop, design and take part in product management axillary equipment for the new fuel type engines; i.e. LNG, LPG, Methanol and Ammonia. Fuels with lower environmental footprint.

You will be working with various technologies and processes for the marine industry, being precise mechanical equipment, high pressure hydraulic system, cryogenic equipment, liquid gas and gaseous gas, skid design, etc.

A typical day would consist of design and development work, interaction with suppliers, production sites, project managers and follow up on service experiences from all over the world.

You will bring ideas from concept, to commercial design and follow it into production and service. The  work takes place in cross-functional projects with a wide range of competences. The mechanical team consists of 3 persons managing auxiliary units, but with support from a wide specter of the organization and competences.

Limited travel (below 15 days per year)  in connection to tests and service follow up is expected

Who are you?
If you interested and inspired by reading the above, you are a suitable candidate. 

We imagine that you some of have the following qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineer, M.Sc./B.Sc.
  • Have experience with technical products and solutions, preferably from the maritime industry or process industry
  • Experience with mechanical design preferred
  • Project manager experience
  • Product management experience
  • Curious by nature, team player and proactive
  • Able to operate under pressure even if things do not happen according to plan

You will be part of a team of 13 Engineers with a broad variety of backgrounds and work tasks.

We make application design for Engine supply system, Maintenance Tools for the engines and have the operational responsibility for Product Safety.
