Do you have what it takes to support us in the construction of our large two-stroke engines?

Do you want to be part of the green transition of shipping? And do you consider yourself to be firmly grounded in mechanical engineering and enjoy project work? Then keep on reading - you might be our new colleague we like to welcome on board at MAN Energy Solutions!

Our construction department T/C, EGR and SCR application in Design Small Bore is looking for a Mechanical Engineer who has an interest in engine construction and is firmly grounded in mechanical engineering. The department consists of 9 engineers and technicians who work both individually and in cross-functional teams with a wide range of competencies. The area of responsibility covers the development and design of gas and air systems, application of turbocharger as well as EGR and SCR for emission reduction.

The department is also involved in development projects across the entire organization. Therefore, you might have to travel to engine builders or ships in connection with follow-up on new designs. As a new engineer in the department, you will - as needed - initially receive a broad training in the technical responsibilities of the department.

What is it you are going to do?
As our new Mechanical Engineer you will work with technology that requires high reliability in mechanics and dynamics for large two-stroke engines. You construct and optimize existing engine components and generate ideas as well as you will develop design in corporation with your colleagues.

In addition, you will support our engine builders with exciting production challenges and thus, contribute to MAN’s development of work methods inside our organization. Cooperation and communication with our manufacturers of engine components will be another vital aspect of your work. Seeing that you will be involved with exciting development projects, you might have to travel a few days each year.

Who are you?
We imagine that you are educated as a Mechanical Engineer, either with a Bachelor or Master degree. Preferably, you have some experience with 3D drawing programs – we use Siemens NX. In order to thrive at our department, knowledge of diesel engines and/or practical construction experience would be an advantage. As a person, you have a desire and knowledge to translate theory into practical design, both in corporation with co-workers and individually. Ideally, you have some experience with project orientated work and/or project management/coordination as well as knowledge to Microsoft Office at a beginners level.

As you will become a part of a diverse department located in Denmark, our new Mechanical engineer needs to have rather solid Danish skills as well as reasonable knowledge of English. For the right candidate, we do, however, also provide Danish and/or English courses.

We encourage new graduates to apply for this position as well!
