Mechanical Engineer for Powder Handling (3 vacancies)

Are you ready to build both your own and our knowledge at the world’s leading company within powder handling?

GEA is looking for 10 ambitious mechanical, development, design, and process engineers to build our powder handling team in Process Technology Center Drying and Powder Processing. We are currently building a world-class R&D hub, where you will join a team of skilled engineers as our expert within powder handling documentation and components.

As one of three engineers you will have key responsibility for securing a successful tech transfer. First task will be to establish a complete component overview within GEA’s powder handling technology.

Document our projects
Stepping into our mechanical team of 5, you will work in project teams, where you handle all documentation, such as: Describe our technical specifications, Design specification and progress document in relation to our equipment. Additionally you will also create and maintain 2D and 3D workshop models of machinery components in Inventor as well as creating and maintaining BOMs and fully detailed drawing sets. In addition, contribute to building our standard for powder handling equipment.

To do so you will work closely alongside our colleague in Germany, China, New Zealand and the US. This takes you travelling 5-2060 days travelling per year.

Take responsibility of your set of components
In addition to documenting our projects, you will get the full responsibility of a set of components that you service and maintain in our own standard programme. Quickly, you will integrate them into our system together with the certificates they provide. Going forward, you run, standardise and troubleshoot the components when necessary. As our most knowledgeable expert on them, you also train colleagues in using them.

Work alongside the brightest in the business
When you start, you will receive a thorough one-to-one introduction driven by your mechanical engineer colleagues. When ready, you will be trusted with a project and a deadline to find the right solution. Your colleagues will, of course, work alongside and provide their knowledge and constructive criticism to help you come up with the optimal solutions.

Skilled mechanical engineer
Personally, you quickly take ownership of your set of responsibilities and drive progress of your tasks. You apply your excellent communication skills to balance expectations and create positive collaborations with your colleagues. That way you manage to motivate them and ensure you always meet your deadlines.

Also:

  • You hold a Mechanical Engineering degree or similar
  • One of the three Mechanical Engineers we are looking for will need experience with pneumatic and mechatronic design
  • You have experience with Inventor including parametric construction and iLogic
  • You speak and write English at a high level
  • If you do not know Danish, you are willing to learn
  • It would be an advantage if you are familiar with PAX / Bluestar, material mechanical properties and AutoCAD
  • Also, knowledge of powder transport, ATEX or hygienic design (EHEDG, USDA, GMP, FDA) would be a plus
  • Process design knowledge would be a plus
