Measurement Engineer handling power curve verification measurement campaigns for offshore wind farms

Are you a seasoned engineer with a passion for measurements of wind resources and power curve verification?

Join us and become Measurement Engineer in the Measurements department with 16 employees, where you’ll work closely with suppliers of wind measurement equipment to ensure that we’re always supplied with the best technologies for deployment of our wind farms. Furthermore, you’ll help ensure that our wind farms are serviced and provided with up-to-date wind measurement campaigns adapted to the project’s requirements during all phases of their life cycle.
 
Your key tasks will be to

  • be assigned to projects in all phases of the wind farm life cycle and be responsible for specification, installation and maintenance of power curve verification campaign
  • be responsible for setting up relevant measuring campaigns related to WTG performance and power curve verification tests in close collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • be a subject matter expert during procurement negotiations on assigned wind farm projects
  • review project results, including external deliveries from contractors or from the wind assessment team
  • manage contractors during the installation, commissioning and operational phases, including coordination with local site HSE organisation
  • be in close contact with in-house stakeholders to proactively identify campaign requirements from customers.

We aim at always being able to design and implement the best value measurement campaigns meeting the need of our internal customers and enabling them access to the data needed for site assessment and asset performance assessment. You’ll also contribute actively to the development of our knowledge base and participate in solving related development tasks and studies.
 
Your competences include that you

  • have a relevant technical education, such as either a bachelor’s or master’s degree in, e.g., wind energy, air physics or similar
  • have substantial experience in the area of wind measurements and power curve verification testing
  • are very familiar with utilising various wind measurement technologies, such as LIDARs
  • are used to interacting with contractors and accustomed to the procurement process and negotiations
  • speak and write English fluently and have good communication skills, enabling you to present results professionally to your colleagues and stakeholders
  • are able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a timely and effective manner.

Moreover, it’s an advantage if you have strong coding skills (Python, Matlab) and knowledge of the full life cycle of offshore wind farm projects and experience with working in complex matrix organisations. It’s also beneficial if you have experience with managing contractors and installation of equipment on offshore sites. As a person, you’re open-minded and thrive working with stakeholders outside your department with different focus areas. You can work both independently and in a team. You have the ability to find pragmatic solutions as well as the ability to priorities your tasks during busy and challenging periods.
