The year of 2021 has set the sails to become a groundbreaking year in terms of sales, revenue, and work in hand in the department of Marine Constructions and Geotechnics. Within the last 6 months have secured our pipeline for the next many years by winning all major assignments within our market segment. This includes the technical advice for the Danish Energy Agency on the energy island 100 km out in the North Sea, Lifetime assessment of all the Danish Coastal Directorate’s constructions and the framework agreement for civil engineering and geotechnics on Energinet’s future energy system.

Sweco has delivered consultancy to the offshore wind industry for the last 20 years starting with Middelgrunden offshore wind farm project just outside of Copenhagen where we delivered the winning tender design, detailed design, construction management and supervision. Today we are once again spearheading the development of offshore wind as we provide technical consultancy for the Energy Islands, ice assessment studies for the Hesselø Offshore Wind Farm, consultancy for investment through our recognized expertise within due diligence, lifetime assessment and extension for offshore wind turbines, LCOE calculations for new wind farms and burial assessments.

Our department for Marine Constructions and Geotechnics consists of 3 teams: Marine structures, Geotechnical engineering, and Hydraulics and Climate. Each team consist of experts within offshore wind that adds to the total pool of experts together with our danish energy department and our offices across Europe. Now we aim to go even further by allocating a new business development manager and senior consultant to proactively engage the market to make our existing clients aware of our capacities within offshore wind and develop new clients.

Your key responsibilities
Your responsibilities will be to spearhead our offshore wind business to make it grow, deliver technical consultancy and project management to our projects, meet our client to promote our technical services within offshore wind and collaborate with our strong network in Sweco around the Baltics and the North Sea liasing with highly specilaized at our offices around Europe.

• Spearhead a proactive client relationship towards our wind clients
• Perform project management and or technical consultancy in our existing offshore wind projects
• Take lead in the development of our growth strategy offshore wind
• Execute the strategy and recruit new colleagues
• Perform “lessons learned” and improve the strategy for next year
• Provide input for our merge and acquisition process (MA)
• Secure highly skilled team members and other resources to work under your guidance
• Encourage and facilitate interdisciplinary cooperation

We expect an equivalent share of business development and consultancy, and we recognize that both are equally vital for executing a winning strategy as we go. You will have the full support of the management, tender team and our many experts within offshore wind.

Your profile
To fill this role, we expect you to have excellent market insight – and experience, as well as excellent people skills that will help you build solid client relations. Your drive and motivation for success will be essential to steadily develop offshore wind as a bussines area within Sweco. Finally, you have a strong ability to create results through teamwork and to develop good relations with colleagues and external business partners in an international environment.

This would in our understanding come down to a minimum 7 years of relevant project experience preferably from wind developers, consultancy or contractors.
